I know nothing about PCs. Would this be good for someone who wanted to stream videogames in twitch or mixer?
This would be ok for light gaming but you would need to get a dedicated gaming laptop in order to stream and play games. You could get a budget gaming laptop which could stream and play mainstream games at 60fps 1080p for around $800.

I thought I was the only one who could not claim the so-call gift card from DELL.

I also refused to buy Dell anymore.

CSR is horrible and you could not find where you can solve the issue.
They'd either try to transfer to someone who also does nothing, or they simply hang up after putting you on hold. Absolute trash.

Surprised this isn't getting more attention. Seems like a pretty legit deal for the specs. I'm on the fence about grabbing one as I need a new laptop for basic productivity and novice CAD work for 3D printing.
Ram configuration is the achilles heel. Vega needs dual channel to be good. There is only 8gb and vega uses roughly 2gb. 6gb really isnt enough for system use. If the current setup is 4gb soldered and 4gb replaceable then when you replace the one stick with more ram you lose dual channel.

No, thunderbolt is proprietary. Licensing options have been changing lately so we may see it on more soon.

Blame Intel for trying to push a proprietary interface, rather than standardizing with everyone else.

For daily use (streaming videos, light gaming, surfing the internet)...would you choose this over the Lenovo ThinkPad L380 deal for $450?

I'm shopping for a laptop that would play Farming Simulator 19 at reasonable frame rates and maybe some Battlefield V, would this be good for medium settings?

I am not educated on how this Vega uses 2 gb of the ram and how that would affect the games I'm looking to play.

Not looking for streaming or having my budget exceed 700. Any help is appreciated.

My current desktop is over 5 years old and runs Farming Simulator 17 at 15 fps, and I want to upgrade to get at least good quality frame rates without breaking the bank with a high end GPU.

That's how I rate em personally
Funny how our personal experiences differ, I'd rate Dell much higher - have gotten Latitudes, Vostro, Inspirons for the family and all have worked faultlessly for 5-10yrs each before deciding to retire or sell them in favor of an upgrade. I'm on my Latitude e6520 (i5-2520) right now, happily plugging away as my main work computer (heavy Office user, light gamer).

HPs on the other hand (/me shudders) nothing but problems with cooling fans, failing HD's (particularly Seagate, so I blame HP for trying to go bottom of the barrel HD provider), motherboard issues, boot problems, upgradability limitations.......

I bought that Dell and I love it once I upgraded to 16GB dual channel (it came with 1x8GB) and then figured out how to unlock the TDP to start playing games (it's locked at 15W by default). I think the Dell 2 in 1 is nice deal because it's slightly smaller and lighter at 14" and it can be converted into a tablet albeit a clunky one. It does have USB C charging too.

So far I've been able to pretty much play every game I've thrown at it on 900p-1080p with low to medium settings locally. But with Geforce Now I can play virtually anything via streaming!

Looks good, specs are ok. Nowhere on there does it say IPS and nits are 250 if I read this right. 3.5lbs is nice, a little big for an airplane laptop but might be ok.

Also googling around for benchmarks I found this GTA V video. 720p at 60fps low, 900p is 40's, 1080p is 30 or less. I mean it is integrated, after all

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYgdnBaeA1c

edit : here's BF5. 30ish fps in 768p.

I know the video doesn't say this but you'll have to unlock the TDP so that it plays at ~25W+ otherwise the throttling will cripple its performance and you won't get anywhere near the FPS those videos report. Lookup "RyzenADUI" for the software.

Any idea how this would compare to this deal?: https://slickdeals.net/f/13867820-acer-aspire-5-15-6-fhd-ips-i5-10210u-12gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-mx250-2gb-win10h-560-f-s

The acer has 12gb ram, but I'm not aware how big of a difference the AMD architecture is on the ASUS.
