This new trend of minimalist and "ultrabook-looking" gaming laptops is a breath of fresh air compared to the RGB-mania. Really helps that the prices are kept low as well, though if you're looking for maximum value and not lightness/portability, I can safely say that at $900 for an 8th-gen i7 and a 1050 Ti Max-Q, this is slightly overpriced. However, if you're not one to lug around a thick and heavy laptop, AND you're not a stickler for 1080p/60fps/Ultra in any and all games, AND you've got the money, then this is perfect for you.

Wait, it has 1TB of M.2 SSD storage? Great! Not so overpriced anymore!

This is not a Gaming laptop and you should not consider it if you're looking for one, no matter how slim and light this is.
This is more of an Ultrabook with very strong Graphics performance in Ultrabook standard where MX250 is the current standard. This is for mainly if you want Productivity machine with decent CPU and decent GPU power without sacrificing portability and battery life.
And regarding price, can you point me any better Ultrabook deal offering similar hardware and performance? Don't point some Gaming laptop.

EDIT: DEAL JUST GOT A LOT BETTER. $100 REBATE LINKED BELOW. ALSO FASTER SHIPPING.
https://www.adorama.com/pdfs/reba...EB2020.PDF

The rebate looks like it's good for Adorama directly (same price on their site) or through Walmart (rebate includes "Marketplace.")

As for shipping - Walmart says two weeks for free ship. But Adorama has Shoprunner if you order directly from them.

I'm getting my laptop much faster now, and $100 cheaper. Hot deal for sure.

PS:
I'm seeing some very different reports for screen brightness. Early in 2019, reviewers say it's dim. OP's linked review and another I saw put them in the low 200s.

Later in the year - June, November, I'm seeing reports of 300+. [laptopmedia.com] Did MSI change panels during production? Or firmware update? I looked through some of their BIOS and firmware release notes but MSI was not descriptive at all. Fingers crossed - 300 nits, or near it, at least might permit computing outside in the shade.

Are you saying that if I want smooth triple AAA game...gameplay, that I should not look at this machine at all?

No, you can do a lot better for gaming for the price, even without a sale or discount.

Unless you're looking to play at low settings, the 1050ti MQ will absolutely not give a smooth 60 fps in AAA games. For a laptop, you'd want a 1060 at a minimum, probably a 1660 ti.

Thanks for the great update. I have updated main post with Adorama Link and Mail In Rebate Link.

Regarding your concerns about the display, if you click on the Product link I have posted, you will see that there are multiple models under PS63 Modern and they have different type of screens. The link I have given is for the review of this exact 091 model.

Luckily I tried the MSI keyboard and I know I hate the feel of it. I recommend you try out the feel at a local store if you can before pulling the trigger.
