Durable suede leather and mesh uppers surround a 100% waterproof membrane to keep feet protected, supported, and dry. Abrasion-resistant toe caps and heel counters offer additional protection from rocks, branches, and other ground level hazards.

Anyone have experience with these boots? Afraid they are cheap junk.

And is there a comparable women's available?

Never heard of them. Doesn't mean it's bad, but I'd say check your local REI this Saturday during the garage sale. Much higher chance of finding exceptional quality boots for about this price or a little more. I once got some $225 boots for $50 that way and my god were they worth it. Can't imagine getting through some of the backpacking hikes I've done without them.

Reviews on Basspro's site aren't very promising. Great boots before they starting making them in china. Now 6 months max of regular use.

Bass pro is a huge retailer, redhead is their store brand and is incredibly common. Boots like this are probably perfectly fine for $40. REI garage sale sounds great, unfortunately their locations are few and far between in my region.

I mean that one review says they started failing after 6 months of "hard use". I don't think that any $40 boots will hold up much longer then that with actual hard use. These are probably good for occasional hiking or slushy mornings to the office or whatever.

For those who don't have Bass Pro near them... be sure to see the Wiki for a link to the same deal at Cabela's.

Where we live, Cabela's is closer.. so might be the same for some of you.

It looks like Cabela's sells the exact same boot.

Walmart Ozark Trail hiking shoes are excellent, if you like lower 'sneaker height' hikers. You can get a year of hard use out of them, and they're only like $20. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-...esQAvD_BwE
