Price is pretty great, but for $550 with those specs, a few more quality-of-life features (like a touchscreen, or more RAM/storage, etc.) would have been nice

A ThinkBook is NOT a ThinkPad. This doesn't even do USB-C charging. Hard pass — you can get an actual quad-core ThinkPad for this price on one of their sales — why go with this crap?

Also, keyboard has non-standard positioning of the FN key — I'm a MacBook / ThinkPad user, couldn't use an HP on Linux recently because of this issue.

Non-Thinkpad users actually prefer the Ctrl key in the corner. And the Thinkbook is designed specifically to appeal to non-Thinkpad users. It's aluminum, like a Macbook, no Trackpoint and the keyboard layout...as you point out.

The screen is very nice on this model
The OS is Win 10 Pro
Fingerprint reader

And decent ports for a laptop this thin and light:
WxDxH: 12.11" x 8.52" x 0.63"; 307.6mm x 216.4mm x 15.9mm
Starting at 2.91 lb / 1.32 kg
One USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 (with the function of DisplayPort)
Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (one with Always On)
HDMI 1.4b
Headphone / microphone combo jack
