FWIW, HP offers a "No Risk Care Pack" for just under $300 for this machine. What you get is a 3 year warranty and accidential damage coverage for this fee. More importantly, if you don't use the coverage, you have 90 days after it expires to submit a rebate form and they will refund you the entire warranty fee. Link to Care Pack [hp.com] and Link to Risk Free Rebate information [hp.com] I verified via chat that a machine purchased at Best Buy with this model number is eligible for the HP direct warranty.

It's an ok deal. Would have been perfect if it came with 16GB. Integrated graphics will eat up a good chunk of that 8GB system memory.

Exactly - these are the only two Best Buy SKUs.

Thanks, this is exactly the deal I was looking for!

For those of you wondering, this is the late 2019 version of the Spectre that has the much smaller form factor with essentially no bezels and the significantly improved touchpad. Most reviews consider it the best 2-in-1 on the market.

I bought the microsoft sp7 (8gb ram,128gb,i5 10th gen) last week for 799 plus tax at costco. I'm thinking of returning it for this one but im loving the surface even with lower specs so it's hard to decide :-/

Of course this would happen right after exchanging this for the c940..
.this is a crazy good deal for the latest Ultrabook from HP. It has the best battery life of all the 10th gen 2-in-1 laptops thanks in large part to the low power screen, but the CPU is also the 'worst' performer out of the different brands (compared to xps 13, Lenovo c940). Take that with a grain of salt because Its not bad by any means, just the weakest on synthetic benchmarks.

The thing I love the most about this (which none of the others have) is the windows hello IR login. For someone who had never used it before, it felt very badass to be able to open the screen and login without having to touch the computer.

Also the keyboard on this is regarded as the best of the recent Ultrabooks. Personally it is the 'springiest' and most tactile compared to c940 which is mushy in comparison. Never tried dells maglev keys but they are terribly reviewed.

For speakers, the lenovo c940 beats this by a mile. They aren't awful on spectre x360 but not great either.

the thing is very small. I have small hands to begin with but trying to use it in bed, on my lap, my hands are too big to rest comfortably on the 'palm' area, being incredibly difficult for longer use. the trackpad is tiny and also not ergonomic, which gives a win to the c940 being slightly larger.

I had this about 15 months ago and the motherboard died on me last month. Ended up getting C940 and not going to go back to HP anytime soon! I'm impressed with C940's performance so far and specially the audio Smilie
