signature 72 in. Fold-Out Wood Workbench

Was browsing home depot's PC this evening and came across this in store. Purchased two of them at $24 each. YMMV with stock and price on this, reviews are solid and for the price its hard to beat.

HD site says none within 100 mi. of my zip, brickseek shows a dozen each ("clearance") in stores 10 and twenty minutes from my house...go figure...
HD website doesn't show items once they are on clearance!

It's been $48 in my area and was waiting for it to drop further. $24 is practically the 4x4's alone.

Dropping by the store first thing in the morning!
That's what I'm trying to add up. I estimated about $15 worth of 2x4.

Plus $19 for a 1/2" x 4' x 8' mdf board for the top/bottom surfaces.

Total $34

Thanks to slickdeals I have the tools needed to make this, but I cannot make this for less than $24. The $34 doesn't account for the mistakes that I'm bound to make plus the cost of fastners.

That's the depth of the table. It's 35" high from the dimensions in the webpage

Upon further inspection. No 4x4's were used in the bench 😂. But yes, it's all better than the MSRP for straight 2x4's, mdf and some bolts

Holy crap THIS is what is in my converted crawlspace.

Some lunatic bought this probably like 30 years ago and mounted it to the wall. In a basement that has a height clearance of like 5'-2".

So I guess this thing is pretty sweet if its still standing.
Did he murder people down there?

I fit this in the rear of a 2010 Accord with the rear seats down. So it's possible if your car has that option. Just take along some rope or bungee cord if your comes a little short and you have to tie down the trunk lid.
Good advice. You don't even have to bring rope, just cut some by the registers.

I had this table for years in my Garage. Picked it up at Home Depot on Black Friday some time ago. I just sold it for Around $60 on Facebook. It's great for storage or light work. This table won't survive banging on it with a hammer or mounting a heavy duty vice to it. But for a drill press, bench sander, bench grinder, etc works great. It will fit in the back of a Jeep Cherokee/grand Cherokee out of the box with the rear seats folded down. At this price I will pick myself up a new one.
