Just as another option Spirit offers one way flights from MYR to Buffalo and vise versa just about every day for $46.

How is it flying Spirit? I always read about it being a disaster

I live in Myrtle Beach and fly Spirit often. I honestly don't feel that the bad reviews of the airline are entirely the airline's fault.

Spirit is a no-frills point a to point b airline. I think many complaints arise from an expectation that there anything more than that. They do a very good job of explaining up front where the additional fees are located, such as not having your boarding pass upon getting to the airport, carry-ons, checked baggage, snacks, etc.

There are many times when all I want is a quick and cheap no frills flight and they offer just that. So long as you don't have lofty expectations of some tremendous flight experience, and you're just looking to get wherever you're going for as cheap as possible, they will do just fine.

They are best used for things like weekend getaways where you can simply pack a couple of clothes in a backpack or duffel bag.

I have never had a problem with them. They are just a basic no frills airline that gets you from point A to point B. I have a friend that lives in Myrtle Beach who watches their prices and when the round trip ticket gets down to $39 he will take a weekend trip to the casinos in Buffalo and have a fun weekend for a few hundred bucks.

As someone who grew up in Myrtle Beach but currently lives in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area, Spirit does not fly this route all year. It's a seasonal route that goes from the end of February to the beginning of September. It is a fair point though that the dates listed in the OP are dates you could likely get on Spirit. The Spirit flights are to the Niagara Falls airport which is pretty great, it's about the size as the old Myrtle Beach airport with just a couple gates. I wish they'd fly during the offseason, it would be a lot easier to get down there during the holidays.

Myrtle Beach for 7 days sounds awful and way too long. I went for 4 days and felt any longer would've been too long.

I think it depends where you are and what you're used to. We get a beachfront King suite for less than $100 per day and enjoy staying the entire week just outside of peak season when the weather is mild. We aren't the kind of people who are used to 4-star or higher hotels, though.
