I'd wait till 2020 update happens on MB Air. They will likely finally bring it into the 2010s with a 4 core/8 thread chip - Core i5-10210Y or Core i5-10310Y. Both of those are 4 core 8 thread 7 watt TDP chips. Currently the air still ships with a Core i5-8210Y 2 core/4 thread processor. That will age pretty quickly.

Yeah I bought one on Amazon at $799 on BF, to replace my 2015 MBA from work, and I didn't feel a huge difference really in processor speed, just for the resolution on screen, Touch ID, and bigger touchtrackpad.

Wait for a better sale.
