How does it compare with TLC 6 series? 2018 model 65R613
Got this LG about 2 weeks ago from Costco at this same price. Loving it! The main thing that swayed me away from TLC 6 was viewing angles. Even at a modest angle the TLC started to look more washed out. If you can get to a Costco, see this effect in person compared to the TVs positioned next to the TLC. LG also has some better iphone/apple casting compatibilities I believe. Anyway, very pleased with LG. Also at the sub $500 price point you can add a SquareTrade extended warrantee for only $35 to cover 5 years - seemed like a no brainer to me.

Technically my first was an 8088, bought it used and don't recall the specs. C64 was great. I remember summer games. Things have changed a lot in 35 years.

Can you tell me the lowest price of this TV last few months? I can't find anything below this price. This is the LG base model but 65 inch 2019 model and less than $500 is sweet deal for me.

.
Its fairly good but the 65 inch TCL R613 was $500 last week and is a better TV.

Per Rtings. Maybe I am missing something but I believe Mediocre is not a positive term.

Like most IPS TVs, the LG UM7300 has a mediocre contrast ratio, very similar to the UK6300. Blacks look slightly grayish in a dark room. Unfortunately, this TV lacks a local dimming feature to improve dark room performance.

Mediocre HDR peak brightness, too dim to show off small specular highlights in some scenes. It is slightly brighter than the UK6300 and UK7700.

I would advise to see it person. I read those ratings and saw a totally different picture when I saw it live. One deciding factor for me was the wider viewing angle, which I needed.

I bought two of the TCL 65R615s from Best Buy for ~450. The Roku interface is not my favorite.

The ads piss me off, there's no info button to check the current time or input info, and the setup process REQUIRES internet, a web browser, and a Roku account. You also have to be watching something on an input to change the video settings, and you can't save settings to carry across inputs. Additionally, they haven't added the ability to open Netflix with a voice assistant yet. Every other app works, just not Netflix.

As for the actual panel, it's great. It hurts to look at bright spots at max brightness, and at the same time the blacks are almost perfect. I also have not seen any color shifting at any angle, even standing almost next to the tv. I was kinda scared about this part from the reviewers, but now I feel like I stressed out over nothing. My only complaint is that sometimes the darks are so dark, I can't see any detail even after cranking up the backlight. I guess there's another setting I need to adjust to fix that.

Great panel, bad interface, good price.

adjust the gamma levels using the expert settings menu on the roku app, should hopefully fix your black level issue.

I saw it live too. looks fine. Then when I saw it in dark room...it was bad.

Best Buy has some of the TV in a dark area. Costco...way too bright and so is walmart.

Viewing angles is the trade off. Blacks versus Viewing Angle...unless you get OLED.

Once you get home, and set up most television without another one next to it to compare, the vast majority of people will be very happy with virtually any television these days.

I focus on the looks/base as mine isn't wall mounted...I bought an LG with a nice looking base/very thin aluminum bezel last year from Dell and the whole family is very happy. I don't like the two feet bases, which are, IMHO, ugly and impractical for any TV larger than 60" as most media centers/furniture aren't long enough to fit.

i'd go for the 8000 series or higher. there's a big difference. 7000 below is the same
As someone with a 75" 8 series (2018) that broke in 15 months who got this set today from BB (yes they do PM), I whole heartily disagree and do not miss the stupid banding from the poorly executed local dimming.

Yes. They deliver to the room you want and also took my old set away for $20. Now my back doesn't hurt.

Better screen (brighter), stuff you get with LG ThinAI (voice remote, airplay, etc).
It is definitely worth the $20.

Basically if you normally watch TV in a dark room, which brings out the deep blacks buy the Samsung NU6900.

If you normally watch TV in a bright or sunny room, the deep blacks are less apparent and the anti reflection coating is more apparent, therefore, in bright rooms the UM7300 is a better buy.
I bought this tv exactly for this reason. I paid $500 around Christmas and have it in a bright room with lots of natural light and wide angle viewing.

For the price and it's specific purpose i bought it for its working great
