Trailer looks good - and 95% RED tomato rating.

Can anyone who has seen it chime in?
An absurd premise but was fairly entertaining watching a peasant-class in a micro society living and fighting on a train all while eating protein jelly bars made from ground up roaches!

It's solid movie, well paced, well acted and good visually. Social commentary is very ham-fisted and on-the-nose but the train makes for an otherwise interesting "social ladder" critique. The ending is clunky and anti-climactic.

It held my interest and I was thoroughly entertained but let down with the way it concludes.

Watch it on Netflix and judge for yourself if you want to buy it. Personally. I have never had the desire to watch it again.

Would like to see the rumoured director's cut but there is a tv series version of Snowpiercer coming up so maybe that will give is the cut scenes.

Excellent movie that I watched years ago and never forgot. I didn't realize who directed it until now.

Korean television has been beating Hollywood for years with better stories and cinematography.

You stated "best sequel" which gave me the impression there was another one, besides this.

Also, I've thought that The Matrix could be the continuation of Terminator.

Oh my bad dude. The only other sequel is in book form "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator"

No worries. Just gotta little excited.

I liked Snowpiercer when I watched it, liked it even more when my buddy mentioned it being a sequel to Charlie.

Also, can anyone who's seen it explain why Tilda Swinton took out her denture after being taken hostage?
It was more of an interesting visual than anything symbolic. It came about when she happened to remove the prosthetic teeth off camera & the director thought it was fascinating to watch. They quasi decided on it to mean that she's really as helpless as they were. But it was more for the bizarre visual effect than anything.

Great film with a great cast. I rewatched it last night. A Snowpiercer TV series is coming in May: https://youtu.be/Rh8Ses7XUeY

The commercial uses "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka, so the people saying it's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory have it on the nose.

Fun fact: I read that it got buried by Harvey Weinstein (and the studio) because Director Bong Joon Ho refused to change the final edit to accommodate Harvey's demands... so Harvey help bury the movie and refused to promote it. (Which is one reason why it's a really well-reviewed movie, but isn't very well known.)
Yup. Thats typical hollywood stuff though. My way or the highway. There are several others in this vein of good movies buried because of politics.
