Great deal! But it's hard to value the $275 e-GC as $275. Most non-Dell things on the Dell website are stupidly overpriced.
Agreed. It would be interesting if SD started a giftcard exchange/buying service, maybe directly with merchants, because a $275 dell giftcard that expires is kinda bad, unless you know youll have a need for it. I think a lot of people would settle for a $20-50 loss on face value to just dump it, but giftcard sites are offering way less. And deals like these could result in users chaining together, selling to the next TV buyer, but you either have to have a lot of trust or way to sell without getting fleeced by the middleman.

Id very much consider this at like $550, but that giftcard makes things awkward.

Are the Dell eGCs that are included in deals like this one very market-able on like ebay for resale? If you could sell the Dell gc for $200 and effectively make this $600, that seems super slick!
Don't make the same mistake I did several years ago. I sold one of these dell egc on eBay. The buyer filed a claim 6 months later saying they didn't receive it even though I emailed and messaged the buyer the egc. Ebay sided with the buyer, rightly stating that egc's are not covered in their seller protection. I was out of the egc value that was used immediately, ebay refunded the buyer and withdrew funds from my PayPal.

gosh darnit! I bout this 7-series in a 65" (i believe) in 2018, then a 55" for my bedroom. I'm all TV'd out, but when factoring my employee discount and rewards, this TV nets at about $300 (before tax) for me...the worst part of it, i'm going to have to pass!
You can give me your employee discount 🤪

240 does exist, wtf are you talking about? 120 is cheaper, but most the junk being peddled is 60.
That's weird because Rtings has reviewed 209 TVs, and there are no 240hz native sets. Any TV claiming otherwise is using software tricks. All TVs made today are either 60hz or 120hz, there is nothing else. If this were a PC monitor thread, then you would be right, but televisions only come in those 2 flavors.

Do you have this tv? The ratings by normal consumers seem to be overwhelmingly positive. I'm a normal consumer and so are my two children. If it's that bad I guess I'll return it

Also currently I'm running a 7 year old Visio 1080p with 6 dimming zone that drives me insane in the dark. Is it going to be worse than that?

My plasma had 600hz and I can tell you it makes a huge difference. Replaced with a Vizio P series and sports do not look the same.

Sure I get that everything is shot at, 30 or 60 fps but that refresh rate does something. I cannot explain it but my eyes sure can.
Let make this clear: ALL plasma TV's refresh rate is 60hz.
Plasma pixel is binary either on or off while lcd pixel is vary with voltage. You just excited all the subpixels with a certain voltage to get the color you want (brightness is another matter from led backlight or in LG LCD case the hated white subpixels which decrease 4k-3840 resolution down to 2880. LG OLED has more subpixels to maintain 3840 pixels.)
Since it's binary plasma has to vary the color & brightness intensity by lightning it's sub pixels more or less per FRAME. This frequency is 10 times a frame that give you the 600hz which used to be 480hz or 8 times per frame. If you want intense color you light the sub pixel up 10 times a frame, less intense then 1 or 2 per frame. Same for brightness.
This make plasma clearer than LCD because pixels don't fade away-they keep on refreshing since that's how it work. LCD do need a higher refresh rate not plasma.

The GC is $275, but basically yes if you value the GC as cash. If you sign up for Dell's rewards program you will get an additional $30 GC as well.
