May be a dumb question. Will this work directly out of the box if I need to nail Quarterrounds in my house?
The 18 gauge brad nails would work perfectly for quarter round, make sure you by nails long enough to penetrate the trim and that will give you some penetration into your nailing surface. Anything bigger or smaller might not get the job done right or might damage the trim. Also you will need an air compressor and air hose...not a big one, anything will do as long as it can go up to 75-100 PSI.

Is this overkill for stapling cables around the house?
Erm..to my knowledge you would never use an air nailer, or any kind of nailer or stapler to drive in fasteners that would hold cabling such as romex, coaxial, Ethernet, low voltage cabling of any kind. These are all hand nailed to prevent damage to the cable and in the case of electrical wiring, to prevent risk of shorts that may cause fires. There may be a specialized tool for that or specialized fasteners but this isn't it.

Yes. You want something like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardn.../202531422

I have one but in my older home, the wood is so dense the staples don't penetrate very far.

Yeah something like this is better for running cable. Don't use an air stapler. Even if it doesn't go in all the way you can tap it in.

Brickseek killing me.
Went to 2 locations near work, one showing 20 on hand, and none could be found. Even had 2 employees look for them.
Shows an odd location in store (endcap 2)
Just ordered it online for customer pickup at a Home Depot close to my house and got a notification within 5 minutes it was in a locker ready for pickup. figures

I have the 18 GA nailer/stapler from HF [harborfreight.com]one and I don't like it too much because it dents/divots on basebaords and end hardwood pieces. Would this do a better job or should I look elsewhere. Also, is it worth it to pay for the angled ones?

Thanks in advance.

I was at HD this morning (Richland, wa) and after searching around for a while, noticed they were sitting right in front of me in they're own cardboard display. It also states that $29 is the "new lower price"? Wouldn't this gun be about on par with one from harbor freight which is cheaper?

Yes, these tend to countersink the staples and I'd expect it to take the wire with it depending on teh size or at the least chew into the table and potentially short it out.
