Maybe good value/worth the risk to some, but take "deal" with mild skepticism
for $10 it's cheaper than many Usb-C to HDMI adapters out there, this obviously has a larger feature set.
anyone know if this could work as a DEX setup (ie using Samsung phone as the brain)?

VAVA seems to get posted quite often, safe to say strong SD presence

This is a little dated, but it is what I found. (re: 3rd party DEX devices)

I'm getting one for that. I have a DEX dock, but it is a pain when my phone is in its case.

Someone asked in the questions section if it runs 4k at 30hz or 60hz and it was answered 60hz. Isnt that impossible in a hub like this?
That's my understanding as well, that the 4k 60hz signal would take up all available lanes from the single USB-C connection and there would be no bandwidth left for any of the other ports.

I have 2 of their other USB-C multifunction hubs (I did not purchase via SD) and they work just fine with my Note 8 and Note 10+ for DeX.

Edit: the two I have are these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079GSMZ7G/

I have 4 other brands as well Lenovo, Falweldi, Minix, Doilda(sp?) and they all work fine for DeX but I should mention that 1) for some reason the Note 10+ needs to have power delivered from a charger through hub for DeX to activate for any of them and 2) my TCL TV doesn't accept the full resolution mode of the signal from the Note (weird mode?) and is limited to 1080p output.

Can anyone tell me why it needs its own power supply? Looking at past usbc hub deals and most of these features are in AC adapter-less hubs.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 chipset with its 20Gbits/s of bandwidth supports 4K 60hz 18Gbits/s.

Samsung DeX is a feature included on some Samsung handheld devices that enables users to extend their device into a desktop-like experience by connecting a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The name "DeX" is a contraction of "Desktop eXperience".

100% shill post for a garbage product.
* look at photos in reviews. What legitimate reviewer or a sensible person would ever think that uploading a photo of a box is of any use to anybody
* reviewmeta says 80% of reviews are fake.
* fakespot gives it F

This is a 100% shill post for a cheapo chinese garbage product.

There is another port for laptop charger. 24w power is only for supporting the hub. You can see laptop charger port on one of the pictures above.

24w is too low to charge most laptops
The included 24w power supply is for the dock only. It seems (though pics don't show directly) there's another USB C port to plug the laptop charger into and that power passes through to the laptop.

It basically turns your Samsung phone which has DeX into a desktop computer, there are lots of good videos on YouTube if you want see the full capabilities.

You will be disappointed since you can only pull 30hz with this hub.

I tried to get this one. The sale price showed $15.98 with additional $10 off if I clipped the coupon. Whether I clipped it or not, the price was 15.98. I never even saw a $9 price!!!!!

Looks like the coupon is no longer available. It was there when I added it, but it no longer applies.
