so what happens if my wi-fi goes down? So the review says it won't work with existing doorbell...
It stops working. It is WiFi dependent. My power went out in the living room and the WiFi died and it stopped working like any other WiFi or internet dependent device. Hope this helps.

The footage is saved on the base station and can be received once the internet is backed up.

How do you recharge the battery on this?

it is easy to swap out batteries with my Ring 2, but I believe with this one you have to take off the entire doorbell each time to get to the battery on the back of the unit.

IDK, is there a way to easily remove and replace the doorbell to charge the battery?

I bought this product and received it about 11 days ago. Work as expected. I could try and answer some of the questions about it, if people have any.
Do you know how to add extra chimes? I'm hoping it'll connect to google hub since I don't have an amazon dot. Tia!

Comes with a little "key" to remove it from the base. Makes it easy to remove.

Edit: Charges internal battery via micro usb.

Contrary to what others have said...the Homebase 2 connects to this doorbell (and also Eufycam) via its own 2.4ghz wifi (not your router's wifi). The Homebase 2 then connects to your wifi router via CAT5 cable or wifi for internet access. Mine is connected via CAT5. This means that if your router or internet goes down, your doorbell and Homebase 2 still works as far as local recording is concerned. The recording will not be viewable however until router and internet comes back up. Now if power goes out, the Homebase 2 doesn't have built-in battery backup...so your Eufy doorbell chime will still work, but there will be no recording. So a quick solution here is to get a small APC UPS for the Homebase 2.

Correction - chime will not work unless it is also plugged into a UPS.

I did not see an option to change the chime. This model is said to work with google assistant platforms.

I checked the recordings for when my power went out. There were no recording during the outage. Just wanted to share what my system did during an outage.

Yup. Totally expected unless you have a UPS connected to your Homebase 2.

I think that's what he is saying. During a power outage it will not ring or record unless you have a ups connected to the base.
Then it will record but not broadcast through internet if none is available.
