Ring 2 only 90$
Cool. Does the Ring 2 give you the following:
1) Local storage to a Homebase-like device.
2) View live and past recordings WITHOUT a subscription. If so, upto how many days?
3) Expand the local storage to external USB device for longer term retention of recordings.
4) 2k video quality recordings

I think that's what he is saying. During a power outage it will not ring or record unless you have a ups connected to the base.
Then it will record but not broadcast through internet if none is available.
It will ring if you plug in the chime to the UPS since this has an included separate chime as well, correct? But yes, no recording and no chime if the Homebase 2 and chime are not plugged into a UPS. I'm coming from the previous model where the chime is separate small unit that plugs into an AC outlet. Basing my info on that, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I keep checking comments to see if I really need this one. I recently bought a BOGO (a free add-on Cam 2) Eufy Cam2 and I installed two cams in my dad's house, I keep the add on one. I was looking for a Eufy Cam Home base 2 for a long time, no luck. This one comes with a home base, I am just debating do you really need the ring bell? Or just buy a Eufy Cam 2c with comes two 2c cams and a home base and only $50 dollars more?

Does anyone who has home base already and just want the ring bell only? I really just need the home base instead of the ring bell? I can buy this set, keep the home base and sell the ring bell!

Yeah, so already I'm one of those guys who went heavily with Ring equipment mainly because of its supposed compatibility with Alexa devices, which I am also heavily into. Frankly, that compatibility has turned out to be hit or miss and from what I am reading these Eufy devices are a step up.

Is anyone using this with Alexa devices like the Show? My biggest problem is the delay that occurs when I use my Show(s) to connect to Ring.com for Ring doorbell 2, but by the time I connect the person at the door is long gone.

If you take a look at reviews of the cameras that come with the Eufycam 2C's, you'll see that they do not have the same wireless range as the original Eufycam, Eufycam E, and Eufycam 2. So just be aware of this if anyone is considering getting the Eufycam 2C cameras. Not a deal breaker if shorter wireless range is not an issue.

When I needed to get 2 additional cameras, I considered the 2C kit. But because of its range limitation, I went with Eufycam E bundle that went on sale. It also gave me a built-in alarm in the cameras, double the battery capacity, and better wireless range.

Actually I believe there is no "chime" as the homebase is the chime also. Would be nice if they included an extra chime as I would install the base in my internet closet.
Now best would be if it supported a wall chime.

Hmmm... Eufy sells chimes for their older model doorbell. I wonder if those will work with this as well.

I bought this product and received it about 11 days ago. Work as expected. I could try and answer some of the questions about it, if people have any.
How long does it last on battery before replacement?

Edit: Nevermind, on their description page on Amazon, it says: "Dual Power Options: Half a year of coverage from one charge or non-stop power supply via a wired connection."

Contrary to what others have said...the Homebase 2 connects to this doorbell (and also Eufycam) via its own 2.4ghz wifi (not your router's wifi). The Homebase 2 then connects to your wifi router via CAT5 cable or wifi for internet access. Mine is connected via CAT5. This means that if your router or internet goes down, your doorbell and Homebase 2 still works as far as local recording is concerned. The recording will not be viewable however until router and internet comes back up. Now if power goes out, the Homebase 2 doesn't have built-in battery backup...so your Eufy doorbell chime will still work, but there will be no recording. So a quick solution here is to get a small APC UPS for the Homebase 2.

Correction - chime will not work unless it is also plugged into a UPS.
Thank you! I'm glad since i was thinking of a backup plan if wi-fi went out. This is great!

Built in battery pack. Like the rest of their products, the batteries cannot be replaced.

I just bought the Eufy wired only doorbell on the last deal. I already set it up at home but I'm wondering if the new model is worth the hassle of returning the older model and paying $40 more. I like the idea of the footage being saved to the homebase so that I don't lose the footage if someone rips the doorbell off.

IMHO, totally worth it. You get dual power option on the doorbell plus Homebase 2 for local storage for only $40 more.

Update - Apparently, this new version does not have the 3 seconds of pre-buffer recording unlike the 1st gen. I would have to agree with others that this is an important feature to consider and trade-off.

3 hours off the base or AC. Batteries are not replaceable
