Processed my order, sent me verification, then sent me an OOS notification for the printer but will process the $0.44 filler item.
Free shipping of course.

This printer line is a BEAST. I bought the B&W version in 2014 for college, and it's still going strong 6 years later. Only changed the ink three times ($15 on amazon).

You'd think in 2020 that native scan to email capabilities would be a no brainer in any all-in-one device, especially since my 15+ year old Canon can do it no problem. Well not so much with these Brother units. The only way to configure it is to use their bloated, barely functional software on every PC that needs the feature. If you're getting this for home use its probably not a deal killer. If you're getting this for even a small office then don't walk but run away from it at all costs. Oh and the drums don't last very long and need to be replaced unlike many other brands. Make sure to factor that into your cost comparisons when looking for other devices.

Sincerely,
One IT guy who is tired of this PoS printer

Any good recommendations on a color version? I know little about laser printers and want to upgrade from an inkjet.

I have this and it prints great, but the WiFi connectivity is infuriating. Every time it sleeps it becomes undiscoverable on my network even though the printer shows as being connected. I have to go through the connection wizard on the printer every time I need to print something, so I just wait until I have a lot to print then go through the reconnection process.

I guess someone found an item that the $25 off $100 coupon works on and in typical Staples fashion it's OOS already. I, and probably many others here, get emails every week with a $15-$25 off $60/$75/$100.

This reminds me of the days of the Dell C1760NW color laser printer for $60 which would go in and out of stock and bounce around in price like crazy. I think it took me several months and several order attempts before Staples.com finally shipped one to me for $60. Of course I don't need another printer now until my C1760NW dies.

Sometimes I buy external HDs with these coupons, but I don't need any more and haven't bought any HDs since last BF. Someone posted in the main coupon thread that the $25 off $100 doesn't work on external HDs this time. So, as is usually the case, I end up ignoring any coupons Staples sends me. Since rebates ended, I've set foot in a Staples B&M only a few times and only when I got some $5 off $10 coupons.

Why do you want a color version? In general if you want to print pictures, an inkjet will do a much better job. Color laser is really only good for office-type work where you need to print out graphs and spreadsheets that have different colors.
