Is this good for young kids below eight?
I played through the entirety of Cat Quest 2 with my 5 year old. He was able to play melee pretty well. Even started to recognize when he was getting attacked and dodge. Not sure about the first Cat Quest but I'd definitely recommend 2.

I highly recommend this game. Good character progression and gear unlocks, a bit grindy but the combat is fun. Took me about 7~ hours to finish.
Cat Quest 2 is better imo, but wait for a sale on that one.

Everyday I'm reminded on SD why I made the right choice to go with a PS4 Pro. Thanks OP.
Should have gone with a PC 🙄

I have a PS4 Pro and a PC and I still prefer gaming on the PS4.

Spoiler at the end they bury their nemisis, barkonator, in the bottom of the litter box and all take turns peeing on him.

I found this to be rather morbid.

I wanted to say this is the game that got my 7 year old daughter to start playing games with me. Afterwards me moved onto Cat Quest 2 (even better because couch co-op), then Links Awakening and now we are playing Breath of the Wild. Its a pretty simple, but very fun action rpg that's perfect for people just getting into those kinds of games or kids between like 7 and 12. Action RPGs are my favorite genre and it wasnt challenging at all, but still very fun to play along with when compared to other "kid friendly" options.
