So sad that people think $20 a month is too much for music. People just do not value it anymore.
Honest to god, Who remembers spending $15 on a Standard CD or $20 on a Deluxe Edition. lol

I can not give him my money. I don't like hip hop life style. Call me what you want. I am not giving him a single penny.
I'll make sure to let Tidal know when I meet him/her..

IMHO it comes down to wherever you can get a good deal on a streaming service all of them have little pros and cons.
Good post. Been using it with because it was included with my mobile plan as well. I have no complaints. There have been a few times where I could not find the music I was looking for, but for the most part, it has what I was looking for. True about the suggestions, but mark your favorite artists, create your own playlists, or just branch out and listen to something new. Would I pay for it? No, but I wouldn't pay for any other service either.

For parents with small kids, Tidal has no way to exclude explicit songs, unlike Spotify and Amazon. No matter how long I listen, songs with explicit lyrics are always placed at the top of the app home screen. It works ok if you know exactly which album you want to listen to, but as others said, the music suggestions based on what you listen to are very poor. I have the $5 from New Year's, but don't plan to renew, even if it is $1 a month. Amazon music quality is just as good.

Even if you remember to cancel they will still charge you (a year later) and refuse to refund your money. Do not use a regular credit card! I learned the hard way.

Tidal, like Qobuz, has always been meant more for the audiophile group. I won't say I am one, but my setup is >$20,000 for music. By the time you get the Speakers, AMP, DAC (MQA decoder as well for Tidal), Roon Nucleus+, interconnects it adds up.

If I were just listening on regular speakers or headphones like the Bose 700, I'd use Spotify or Apple Music. Tidal is never aligned to my interests, but that's why you make playlists and save favorite artists.

I'm assuming the "him" is Jay-Z. Good news for you because I don't think him doesn't have a stake in Tidal anymore. Him sold it.
Source? Jay-Z appears to still be the majority owner. He purchased the developer in 2015, got a bunch of other artists to join in as stakeholders for an "artist-owned streaming service" media campaign, and sold a third of the company to Sprint a couple years later. There is no mention of other sales and he is still listed among other artists on the "Owners" page on Tidal's website: https://support.tidal.com/hc/en-u...DAL-Owners

I stand corrected. He sold 1/3 of his stake. So the mad poster can stay 66% as mad as before.

Don't let it be a double disc album. We're talking 25-30.

Man I'm late 20's but I remember having to go on launch day to certain retailers and pay like $5 more just to get the bonus track or two included. LMAO. I feel like an ass for that now haha

FYI military veterans can get the standard plan for $5 a month.

I enjoy Tidal. It's true the app homepage is mostly rap/hip hop. But if you search they have just about anything you could want.

Never had an issue canceling tidal (knock on wood). I've been going after their promo's for over a year now. Just using different email addresses to take advantage. I like it.

With that said, never going to pay 20 bucks a month for their Flac. It's good, but not 20 bucks a month good.

Somehow if they can lower this cost point, would help them.
