MAKE SURE THEY INSTALL THE "TILT SWITCH." ITS DANGEROUS NOT TO HAVE IT.

EVERYONE Should OPEN THERE HOOD and MAKE SURE IT WON'T REMOTE START BEFORE THEY SIGN THE PAPERWORK AND LEAVE.

Great system, got one installed last month with the alarm add-on. If you do buy this remote start and want the alarm upgrade its best to go down to store to purchase the FT-ALARMIT part right after so it can be added to remote start install window otherwise they will do it separately.

It's a good system. The only bad thing is the handover process on Toyota shuts off the motor. Also the install dates are so far out it takes 2 months.
I actually consider this as a worthwhile security feature. Someone can't just jump into the car and drive off because you remote start it.

I've been looking for an aftermarket remote starter for my wife's new Rav4 but my only hesitation is bad experiences with Best Buy installs in the past...

Is this on a newer Toyota? I'm looking to add to my 06 Sienna. My 05 Camry's remote start doesn't have an issue.

Yes, 2018 Highlander. I don't know the specifics for that model but it's possible it doesn't do that.

This thing is awesome! I had it installed during their last sale. It was a super quick installation. I don't even think they worked on the car for over an hour. It has cool hidden features like enabling your factory remote to turn on your car (on some model cars).

The cost-benefit isn't there if you're not going to use total tech support for anything else. It's $200 per year. A great service thoIugh if you need it.
I need to buy two, would the savings apply to 2 of them? Or is is $140 for 1 only

I don't understand. This is like most remote starts, even my 2018 factory start on my ford, you have to lock the car first.

So unless you are getting into the car from the passenger side back seat while your car is running, I don't see the true added benefit of shutting off the engine.

Whoa! $139.99 for Total Tech Support members with free installation! OP you should add this to your post.

If you're a TTS member, sign in and the price should update. To see the free installation add on, select a location in the "Need it Installed" section, a few lines under the price.

Edit: TTS is $199/year. If you're not already a member, the cost-benefit isn't there to buy TTS to capitalize on the $139.99.
OP if you would be so kind, would you be able to see if being a TTS member would save you money on installing the Alpine 7" (ILX-W650) dash player? I was looking into getting one. And if it saves you money, it might make sense for me to get TTS to get the remote start install and the dash media player.

I think its in case you accidentally hit the unlock button before you get in the car. Either way, i've never seen much of an issue with the cart shutting off right as you get in and you just start it up again. I don't know about other manufacturers, i just know newer Toyota's have this feature.

I had compustar on 2011 camry no issue. But wanted to add on 2918 Camry push button and this side effect would arise. I will still do it but I want 1 mile range. How to upgrade to 1 mile range? Thanks.

Yeah I have this on my highlander, it's slightly annoying but at least the cars systems are warmed up so that they're ready when the vehicle is turned back on.

Got this installed few weeks ago from the last time it was tbis sale. 100% recommend.

Great signal distance. Goes through my works entire building from my seat. Lots of thick manufacturering walls.

Didn't lose any car features.

Car: 2015 Q50S AWD (every package)

Does it go over supported vehicles? Plug and play or need to splice wires?

There a couple of variables (tax, how much your harness will be given the vehicle), but at face value:

Without TTS: $250 x 2 = $500
With TTS: ($140 x 2) + $200 = $480

$20 savings from Op's deal if you buy the TTS to capitalize on the extra $110 savings per unit. Plus you'll get all the benefits TTS offers (more details on that at BB.com)
