MAKE SURE THEY INSTALL THE "TILT SWITCH." ITS DANGEROUS NOT TO HAVE IT.

EVERYONE Should OPEN THERE HOOD and MAKE SURE IT WON'T REMOTE START BEFORE THEY SIGN THE PAPERWORK AND LEAVE.

LOL what? $250? Block heater for 2010 Civic cost me... $50? Installed myself. Drained coolant, installed block heater, replaced coolant. Piece of cake. $50 + $20 for OEM coolant. Having it installed by someone wouldn't cost more than $150.

The block heater for my Lexus cost me $100 + $30 UPS shipping because I ordered it from Canada. Installed myself for $0.
If you read the post I said INSTALLED DEPENDING ON THE CAR.

Thanks for the post! I ended up getting the Compustar - 1-Button Remote Starter T-Harness Kit (2nd Gen) - Installation Required - Black $229 for my new 2019 KIA Stinger. On the Stinger forums someone has this and they got the OEM fob to start the car so I won't need to carry two fobs.
BB Should be able to set up your original remote to remote start by hitting the lock button 3 times.

Just be aware the range will be only as fast as your original remote is.

You can also upgrade the compustar remotes to a 2 way with longer range in the future if you want to.

So BB was not able to get the 4905S compustar unit I bought a while back installed on my 2003 vw passat. Unit continues to crank starter after engine starts. Was going to get in removed and installed in 2011 Audi A4 but they said it will not work.
Anyone here know a remote start that will work in B8 A4?

Did they contact COMPUSTAR SUPPORT? They could have helped the tech. I would request that they send you to another BB who has someone with experience in VW.

The Audi is going to cost you to get a remote starter. I believe it uses an expensive T Harness.

I was going to take to another BB but forgot FOB so had to cancel. Was told there are just two wires that they hook up and just wont work. Possibly there is a work around but hearing my starter crank while engine running was painful even if car is junk.

Now that bought new Audi taking VW off insurance as wont be driving so dont really care about getting it figured out.

Assume will just take to have uninstalled and return. Just posted to see if anyone knew about remote start for B8 A4.

Do I need to pick up anything from store? My appt is scheduled end of March. My order says "Pickup ready" for the tilt switch and T-harness. Confused if I need to pick those up first and bring on installation day?

You may need to pickup the parts and bring them with you for your appointment.

People have had their parts sent back after 7 days because their didn't pick them up.

Other people said BB held them for the install.

I would pick them up if you're not too far away just to be on the safe side

Thank you so much for your reply. You are correct, I went to the local BB and they had the T Harness and Tilt Switch in the bin behind the counter for pick up for me. They told me to bring it to my appointment in March.

Glad I followed the thread as otherwise I would have no idea until I checked my order progress on the BB web site. Normally for pick up I get an email that item is ready to be picked up with a deadline.

I too had to check on my order twice this week at the store. I have 2 installations happening on 2 different days so they're receiving a bunch of install stuff for me. I asked about it, the said the parts are sitting in the install bay, okay cool, I thought. Then she requests someone being them up to the front pickup area, she changed the pickup date on them so they wont be restocked but now they're just sitting up front til Feb. 29th. I would have felt better with them going back to the install bay. Weird and annoying setup BB has going on this.

You should request to pick them up if you can. They sometimes seem to get misplaced or lost and then you'll need a new install date.

Better safe than sorry.

Anyone know how often this deal comes up? I can wait a month or two but if it's going to take longer I might just get a regular priced one way remote start.

Normally the deal comes around starting in in the fall. Starting in Oct-nov.

Why not set a DEAL ALERT and if it comes back before then they will notify you.

2way is MUCH BETTER than a one way and will even cost you less when it is on sale.

Best buy had trouble installing this on a Civic 2015 hybrid. The ima battery error would appear if the car was left on. The alternative they did was turn the car off when the door opens when using remote start. they don't know why there car gives that error
