MAKE SURE THEY INSTALL THE "TILT SWITCH." ITS DANGEROUS NOT TO HAVE IT.

EVERYONE Should OPEN THERE HOOD and MAKE SURE IT WON'T REMOTE START BEFORE THEY SIGN THE PAPERWORK AND LEAVE.

Purchased this during the holidays for this price and overall good product and crazy range on the remote. My office is in the center of a brick building and I park pretty far, I can turn my car on from my office which is nice. I also like the feature of getting a signal back that the car turned on. My only issue was on how long it took me to schedule an installation appointment (1-1/2 months). Not sure if it was due to the holiday season but I would contact your Best Buys to see how far out are they booked. Overall good price for a good product and its lifetime warrenty on part and installation. Keep in mind you might have to purchase additional wiring hardness for your vehicle but foe my 09 Venza it was only $14

For honda it's adding iDatastart T-Harness with installation

If I just buy the product it says installation not included.

Installation looks like bundled with 80$ iDatastart T-Harness.

Any help?

It's a good system. The only bad thing is the handover process on Toyota shuts off the motor. Also the install dates are so far out it takes 2 months.
I don't understand.

Are you saying that on Toyota/Lexus with push button start the remote start works, but the car shuts off when you get into the car?

Is anybody else seeing a $99 charge for the idatalink wiring harness included in the install package? I'm getting this for a Kia and it seems I'm forced to buy this $99 harness as part of the package.

Anyone find a way around this while still getting the free install and tilt switch?

Correct. Toyota doesn't share the ecm encryption

Thanks. That's a deal breaker for me. I had this on my non-push-button-start 2005 Lexus Rx330 and loved it. But won't pill trigger on my 2010 Rx350 based on this "issue".

OP if you would be so kind, would you be able to see if being a TTS member would save you money on installing the Alpine 7" (ILX-W650) dash player? I was looking into getting one. And if it saves you money, it might make sense for me to get TTS to get the remote start install and the dash media player.
Sorry, still showing as $299.99 even with TTS

This doesn't appear to include free installation. Geek squad install adds $150 bringing this to $400. Am I missing something?
Don't go through the app, go through your browser and then it includes the free install.

My car is 2008 CRV. I have a newbie question.
If I turn the engine on using this system, do I still need to insert the key in to drive?

I actually consider this as a worthwhile security feature. Someone can't just jump into the car and drive off because you remote start it.

I've been looking for an aftermarket remote starter for my wife's new Rav4 but my only hesitation is bad experiences with Best Buy installs in the past...
I don't think anyone can jump into a car and drive off when it is remote started. Unless you have some DIY ghetto system where you leave the key in it.

For this particular system installed in my '04 Silverado, If press the remote start button for more than two seconds, it will automatically lock the doors and then start the truck. Then I have to unlock the doors, get in, put the key in, turn it to the run position and THEN step on the brake pedal to transfer from remote start to normal mode.

If I push the brake pedal (like I want to shift into drive) without the key in the run position, the truck will shut off.

Anyway, the range on this thing is awesome; I normally start my truck from more than 1/4 mile away. It is always running and the seat heaters already warm when I get in. Smilie

Only problem was the Best Buy install. It was fine, until one day on the side of the road I was replacing the mangled serpentine belt and the truck decided to start. I guess I was leaning over the front grill and had the start button pressed in my pocket for more than two seconds. My bad for not disconnecting the battery first. Not sure how I still have an arm or fingers... Evidently they didn't install the tilt switch or any mechanism to not start if the hood was raised.
