Its a Seagate drive. I'll pass. thumbs up on the price though
Seagate is on my avoid list too.
I was recently testing and wiping a pile of old hard drives that I had accumulating. 2 of the 3 that failed S.M.A.R.T. were Seagate.
Having said that, I have been using this same drive since summer of 2017 as a 2nd drive in a laptop with no issue.

Mine is reporting error after 2yr heavily used.

I bought the similar version of this 2TB SSHD 2.5yr ago. Will try the 5 yr warranty claim.

Mine just crapped out a week ago just before it's 3rd year . Only lost a small amount of updates to files. I thought the warranty was 2 years?

Edit: Found on the website it's still under warranty. Called support about the RMA and going through with it. They'll probably replace with a refurb unit. I'll just use it for junk storage. Whats going to happen with the old drive is a little fishy. "By returning your product to Seagate, you agree to the Seagate repair process as described in the Seagate Return Policy, including the transfer of your data to countries that may not offer the same level of data protection as your home country, as well as the deletion of your data."

And it hits this price about twice a month. Imo this should be considered regular price but somehow the unknowing seem to think it's some amazing deal.

To be fair it's the only 2tb hybrid drive in the 60 range. I can't seem to find any others but would appreciate if you know of any to share?

Have two of these fail on me in the past 2 years. Never trusting these again. Thankfully, I had them on unraid with parity protection and was able to recover everything.

Damn i had several Seagate drives and none hasn't died on me yet. Don't want to Jynx it, but I got a 3 TB going 7+ years. Though it's never my main drive and just my storage.

I got this drive, it's ok. A little slow honestly. But save the $10 and get a normal 3.5 7200 rpm drive imo. That makes more noise though so put that into consideration.

Why is this comment downvoted? I had 2 Segate drives in the past and both failed within 6 to 12 months. Its unbelievable. I'll never buy Segate again. Never had issues with WD.

I don't shop it and I have 2 of these as game library drives. They are decent (and I am not a seagate fan) but the drive itself is like 3 years old and is literally at this price twice a month for the past who knows how many months (at least since summer/fall 2019). I bought my first for $90 2-3 years ago and my second last fall for $60. As I said, consider this regular price. If you pay more for it then you're a sucker or victim of having an immediate need outside of the times it is at this price.

I had one in a PS4 Pro for a month and didn't notice significant improvement over the stock drive. Ended up swapping it with a 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD and put the Firecuda in an enclosure as a spare external.
