The file recovery solution, while designed specifically for Seagate, works with any type of local storage device including devices not manufactured by Seagate.
The program, which has a retail price of $100, can be downloaded for free for Windows or Macintosh systems. While the process involves adding the item to the cart and checking out, it is not necessary to enter billing information. What you do need is a valid email address as license code and download link are sent to that address.

In summary for those still trying to get this software,

You can use chrome incognito for quicker results (worked for me).
You can add multiple items to the cart.
Use complete dummy details - if you so wish
Once you get the order confirmation page (post submission), wait 15-30 minutes on same page and hit refresh.
License details are listed right on the same page.

Summarized using various inputs and can confirm that the above process worked for me.

The software itself can be downloaded from the following links provided by "balistardrake" below

Windows download: https://www.seagate.com/files/www....7.0.0.msi

Mac download: https://www.seagate.com/files/www....7.0.0.dmg

The license codes are unique for everyone.
Had to use IE and mobile to get it to go through, even then lagged a bit

The download from the email works fine with MS Edge. Chrome give you a bad gateway.

FYI, I was able to recover all my data from a failed drive using this amazing open source software. The creator is awesome for making it free. Not even paid software worked for me. Save link for future in case you need it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TestDisk

Having said that, I'll download this one just in case. Thanks OP.
