I was looking for inexpensive classical guitar and found this higher end Lucero classical guitar for $160, 50% off at Musician's Friend, shipping is free.

This is classical version, the one with nylon strings, normally played without a pick. You get a lot of features typically not found in classical guitars:
- Truss rod for neck adjustment,
- Cutaway design for access to high frets,
- Electronic Fishman build-in tuner,
- Premium Fishman Clasica III preamp - guitar can be plugged into amp or computer.

It also comes with solid spruce top.

Lots of premium features, you typically pay a lot more than $160 for this selection of features.

FEATURES
Striped sapele back and sides
Solid spruce top
Multi-ply wood binding
3-ply rear marquetry strip
Custom rosette
Gold hardware
White Ivoroid Regal tuners
D™Addario ProArte strings
Comfort-cutaway
Fishman Clasica III preamp: 3-band EQ, Phase, Tuner

20 reviews at MF, most are 5 star (16 reviews), 2 four-star.

Thanks for the reply. Can you take pictures of the guitar and the serial number? I'll do the same. Not sure if there is any info out on the web as to how to decipher the serial numbers. You can try this link
https://www.music-man.com/serial-number-database

You can PM me the info. I'm trying to decide if I should return the GC version and order the one from MF if it's newer and better. Thanks!
My serial starts with GW followed by numbers. I was thinking if you can tell me the issue you faces, I can test them at my end.

The link you mentioned only accept one letter so can not enter mine as it is two letters in the start.

Mine arrived today and in overall good condition. The action is a little high but everything else such as the frets, electronics, finish, etc are all good. Humidity issues can cause fret problems but thankfully none here. A very good value. Now I need to find a reasonable, nice fitting case.

Tried it out at guitar center and had the same issue as some other people. The frets were rough on the edge of the neck and would totally cut you if you didn't file them down. Seems the QC isn't great on these and you might get one that's fine or one like this. Bridge style also looks rough to restring to me but I'm an electric player.

I bought it for the $160 pre-order price (on this slickdeal post). After tuning it and playing it a little each day for a week, it became clear that the intonation on the high-e string was terrible. I measured it to be 9 cents sharper than twice the open string frequency. All other strings were acceptable (less than 2 cents difference). I took it to a skilled luthier in Albuquerque. He noted that the saddle is slanted in the bridge, and that repairing that intonation defect would require moving the saddle, since even if it was shaped to have the string take off from the extreme (rather than the middle) it wouldn't be enough to correct the issue. Essentially the saddle geometry is similar to a steel string guitar. The luthier said it was "made wrong", lol. Buyer beware; I do not recommend this product.

Why do you say that? I had to return some defective guitars to MF in the past and never had a problem. They processed my return, issues shipping label and refunded promptly.
