I bought this model the last time it was on sale for nearly the same price. I absolutely love this monitor for gaming... I have been gaming since the 80's and thought I might have issues with a curved monitor. I have to say, there is absolutely no adjustment period. it's one heavy monitor and comes in what looks like a crate for a box. It's packaged unbelievably safe. This is a great deal on a fantastic gaming monitor. Even if you don't game, it's darn nice.... I don't find the OC any better than the native 100hz refresh.....

i bought this from buydig.com off sd on blackfriday/weekend? i dont remember

dell deal was the same but with like extra 10-15% cashback on top, so ordered that one as well like 1 week later,

the dell came in like 3 days and the buydig came like 1 week before xmas like 2-3 weeks shipping after I placed order, I returned my buydig.com order and within last month I saw buydig.com have abuncha openbox items for this dell, prolly from the group of ppl like me who ordered it and returned them once they got their dell orders since they took forever to ship.

Unless you are doing games that have little to do with being able to see accurately, who in the right mind working with video or still images would want a curved display. NO ONE!
Maybe you missed the fact that this is an alienware monitor?

You gonna scream at us because it's not ideal for making hamburgers next?

If you already had one then why'd you open the box? 🤔

I didn't open it, but imo they would have to sell it as open box/returned because it had like 5x+ shipping labels addressed to me all over it already.

Also there is not a "security seal" to be broken, the 4x locking tabs go in/out of the boxes.

I got one with Amex discount, and urlhasbeenblocked and it was around $500.
600 - 200 Amex - 60 urlhasbeenblocked = 440 + Tax

Pretty easy to overclock, but my ACER 34 was too.

I would say that that blacks are a lot darker with this monitor, and the packaging was superb.

I ended up getting two of these because I had the Amex on two cards, and the newer version stand is a two-piece construction, while the older is 3 pieces.

Outside of the stand they are nearly identical.

Pairing this with a 1060 6Gb, and I think I may need to upgrade the video card for some games.

I am one of those no ones :-). I have a Dell U3419W. Similar monitor. USB-C. Same size, same resolution. I love it! I'm looking at mostly static things. I don't play games on it.

Just think about it, your head pivots around an axis (your neck). So a curve display keeps the distance from your eyes to the screen more consistent than if the screen were flat.

not at all. 48 on a desk is hard. you need to have it mounted about 3-4 feet away so you aren't turning your head. 34" is sweet spot. switched from 38 down to 34 and don't regret it one bit
I agree I'm planning on keeping my 24 inch IPS and mounting the oled above just for games and movies. Considering grabbing a 29 inch for productivity. I don't think I could use a 48 inch full time. Maybe if only about 10 percent usage was productivity.

Has anybody gotten this model recently? Main thing I'm worried about is backlight bleeding. Buydig told me that there would be no restocking fee if I wanted to return it, so it's not like it's a huge risk, would just like to save the trouble.

I ordered from this deal over the weekend and it arrived yesterday. Backlight bleed was minimal on my unit, contained mostly at the corners but ymmv. Doesn't bother me 99% of the time.

I got two in December.

I would say the three piece "older" stand model seems to have a bit more bleeding.

But, still less than the Acer 34 curved.

The issue is game specific, but the contrast on these are amazing.
