Yup, and just wait till Zen 3 chips launch later with another 17% or so IPC over Zen 2. Intel is going to be in a really tough position.
What I am excited most about Zen 3 is that the CCX is now 8 cores which will fix the latency that hurt AMD in gaming. Increased IPC is a bonus. That will be the nail in the coffin.

I think the x570 taichi is a good fit for this CPU.

so is this the best deal on an this chip or should I hold off a few more weeks.. building a workstation around beginning of march.

I also have access to microcenter.

despite all my current pcs being intel (9)
not considering any intel chips including 300w+ unreleased monsters.

If you need it now its a good deal..otherwise AMD tend to drop prices over time.

That is even better, but around $50 more expensive.

Is it worth the extra money?
Also, is there any one MB manufacturer better than others?

Depends on your need and budget. Yes, some have better VRMs than others. Check out this video and some others from the same channel: https://youtu.be/_7PkZwY9PWM
