Man I'm so tempted to get this but I still have 4770k running strong
a used 8700k and money towards a better graphics card will net you a better gaming experience

30+% improvment

Keep the 4770k if you don't need the 12 cores. Upgrade GPU if you play games. If you need the cores, there is none better than this.

I went from a 3770k to a 2700x. Huge bump in performance. The old intel chips have hung in there but the new Ryzen chips are a worthy upgrade.

That is a good board under $200 if you don''t need more like wifi ax and 2.5Gb ethernet.

Most recent remarks about intel. https://wccftech.com/intel-10th-g...ed-online/

Not 7nm like the Ryzen 3rd gen, I'll stick with AMD for the price as my 3700x does all I need. If you wait around to buy the latest and greatest then you'll never finish a PC. The 3700x can be had for as low as $260 at microcenter. That's a steal and I doubt that intel will approach the value proposition that AMD does now.
3700 is awesome. Haven't even messed with overclocking. No need.

What do you think about the Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master ?
I bought the Aorus Elite after watching about 50 videos and reading about 30 websites on what x570 motherboard to buy. This and the Asus Tuf gaming are the best bang-for-the-buck according to a lot of people. And I got to say I'm pretty impressed with the board so far

These price cuts are buying time for ryzen 4xxx series chips to enter the market in mere months... Can't wait to see how aggressive AMD will be on further price cuts this coming BF.. it could spark a CPU price battle(not war, since AMD doesn't have the deep pockets to throw Intel out of the desktop chip market-- unless the US federal gov't would bankroll one).

Who here does VMs on AMD vs Intel? Like to hear your story
VMs? As in virtual machines? I have for years. If AMD had a datacenter CPU that was built for SQL (saving cost on license by lower core counts) I'd have picked up new servers running Rome.

For the price of Intel I can go from 18 cores per socket to 32, for high density compute it's a no brainer.

Intel need 5ghz to compete with ZEN 2 at 4.4ghz. Zen 2 IPC > Intel. Zen 3 will be in a whole nother league.

Not compete but beat the 3900x in IPC doing real world benchmarks. Multi threading AMD will win but really who would rather save 1 min of time on encoding to get poor software and hardware capabilities whether it comes to gaming or applications
No such thing. Zen 2 IPC is superior.

No one should be buying Intel right now.

No sane person would build a PC with Intel inside today. But some people still do and that is why Intel is still here, just like dial up companies.
