22 lb Crave Adult Dry Dog Food With Protein, Salmon & Ocean Fish, $27.99

This is an excellent price for a good quality dog food, rated 4.5 stars at dogfoodadvisor.com. It was recommended by my vet for my golden retriever with allergies and a sensitive stomach and he's doing really, really well on this food. Note: it is grain free which is causing problems for some dogs, but my vet didn't seem concerned about that.

Same price at Walmart and Target, but better than most regional grocery stores.

Target doesn't carry the 22 lb bag, or at least it won't ship to my area. Just checked and Chewy.com is matching the price too! This is great. The cheapest I can usually find it is $42.

It's usually $31 on Amazon. Savings from regular price is $3 (10%).

Always check price history

Dumb question, but where did you get your screenshot of the price history? I always check the price first but I use camelcamelcamel which showed an average price of $42. ?

Ah, I see. Your screenshot is just over the most recent 2 1/2 months, camel's default tracks the time from Nov 2017. But still curious what you used. I like how it calculates the savings percentage.

CCC samples prices less frequently than keepa , the websit from which the screen shot came. CCC started recording prices for some less popular products only she someone manually requests it using the "request an update" button . Regarding The average price, ccc doesn't take into account time so the they will report an average of $50 for a product whose price has been $20 for 5 years and $80 for 5 seconds whereas keepa would report a time- weighted average of slightly above $20

So, not a dumb question

CCC average is the last number of price changes , never time... keepa reports both 3 and 6 month averages only

Poison. I would feed my dogs even if it were free.
Your informational post has led me to choose another dog food. Thank you so much for clearing that up. I should have known!

"I 'would' feed my dogs even if it were free." Great. I'll buy 10 bags.
