Since you're talking about Wuhan coronavirus, CDC estimated that there would be no cure or vaccine until 18 months later. The speed it's spreading, one doomsday estimate has 2/3 of the world population Infected, mostly would be in China. There are already super carriers outside China (one in UK and one in Japan), and we're starting to see communal infection spread outside China. How deadly is this virus? We don't know because China has been lying about the actual numbers. But over a dozen hospital staff in Wuhan hospitals are already infected and that is coming from state media. That tells you all you need to know. And this is with Asia suffering from SARS over 10 years ago.

This is nothing to be taken lightly. If flu can infect 20 million Americans, imagine what Wuhan corona virus can do here with even more potent spread. If you don't take this seriously, you're an idiot.

What we should stock up is not food. You need to wash hands the right way according to CDC, and it helps to start wearing mask. You see people in Chinatown wearing masks. Those are not stupid people. So much for that whoopeedo guy.

Everyone should stock up on something for 6 weeks. Coronavirus is going to hit everyone in the next two years. I was a doubter but now I believe. Wash your kids hands when they leave school. Train them not to touch their mouths, noses or mouths with their hands at school. Spray down all handles every night before bed. I stopped all colds and flu's for two years doing that. Can't stop kids doing what feels normal at school. Hopefully they will start now.

If you really don't care about your own health and wellbeing, book a one way trip to Wuhan. Good riddance

Don't buy this. So much plastic is being wasted on this for the convenience factor. We have a huge problem with recycling because nobody is buying the plastics and paper. So very often they are going straight to landfill to save cost. Price per ounce is no where as good as the metal can version when they are on sale.

China controls all the ingredients for almost every single medicine we buy over the counter and prescribed medicine today. We have three months supply before there are not drugs to keep people alive. No antibiotics. No pain meds. Infinitely more. All produced in China. China also produces all the rare earth minerals necessary for everything that keeps our economy moving today. Look around and find out where these workers are at today.

That's an exaggeration. US once produced the most rare earth back in the 80's. We can ramp up the production if price is right. As for medicine, we have alternate sources from Europe. Most of the flu medicine we buy comes from Europe, tamiflu for example. The thing we have to worry about is manufacturing. China can shut down the factories to limit the disease spread, or they can open up factories and let the disease spread. It's a no-win scenario. We can expect electronics to get expensive when supplies run low. But we should be ok with more strategic stuff such as medicine and rare earth.
