$25 referral credit for NEW customers available. Go to eBay, Reddit to get one. STRICTLY NO PM's or begging allowed

General Device Unlock Requirements
  • The device you want to unlock has been active for at least six months of paid service on that device.
  • The device is designed for use on and is locked to Cricket's network.
  • The device has not been reported lost or stolen.
  • The device is not associated with a fraudulent account.
If you're an active Cricket customer and believe you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, sign in to My Account to unlock your phone. Some Android phones must be unlocked using the myCricket app.

Non-Cricket customers, please call Customer Support at 1-800-CRICKET (1-800-274-2538).

To request a Cricket Mobile Device unlock, please call or chat with a Cricket Support Advocate, or visit your local Cricket Store.

Stacks with $25 referral credit for NEW customers. Go to eBay, Reddit to get one for free. STRICTLY NO begging allowed

Guide to Maximizing Cricket free phone & $15 plan
STEP 1
If you have a non-AT&T number instead of paying $9.99 for a Cricket SIM kit, you can port into Cricket and get a free Andriod phone which comes with a cricket sim (LG Stylo 5, Galaxy A10e, Moto G7 Supra, Nokia 3.1). You will be asked to prepay for the $55/ $60 plan (basically a 4 month prepay since Cricket prorates credits if you downgrade to the new $15 plan after activation)

If you have an AT&T number, you can purchase a non-AT&T number from eBay for port in (and port your AT&T number to GV to forward to your new non-AT&T number)

STEP 2
After purchasing your Cricket free phone or SIM activation kit, secure a $25 referral coupon from the cricket referral program (available on eBay or Reddit for free). Once a referral code is generated, it expires within 30 days.

$25 referral is only for new accounts (if you are an existing Cricket customer, if you activate your new service on a new account it will be eligible for the $25 referral credit)

STEP 3
IMMEDIATELY after activating your Cricket service, enter your unique referral code emailed to you in the "Everything's Better with Friends" section of the myCricket app or Cricket online website. After inputting code, you will see a 60 day countdown tracker in the "Everything's Better with Friends" on when your $25 credit is credited.

Change your plan to the new $15 plan. You will get the full $45 prorated credit if you downgrade within the first day of activation which will last for 4 months on the new plan.

STEP 4
After 6 months on cricket you can request your free android/ subsidized iPhone to be unlocked

I did this. Did not activate in 30 days and I was told by support that my balance is gone.
Same, some dude on here said that he didn't activate the Sim, he used an already active Sim and the balance was added to is account. He implied that it was tied to the phone and not the Sim. I already have 4 lines, might as well as add another and see if the multi- line discount is applied.

Attunlockcode dot com has unlocked 3 for me. They are working fine on T-mobile network.
They unlock using USB and change the IMEI # for $26. After unlocking this way they will not work on Verizon and Sprint.
I think changing IMEI is highly illegal, frankly I didn't even know its physically possible. Unlocking is just against your contract with the carrier or just frowned upon. Big difference.

My mother is a current cricket customer. Can you describe in detail how to do this? I'd like to walk her through this upgrade and what the overall cost will be, as well as the steps you followed.
1) Get information for your transfer line ready. If you don't have a phone number you can sacrifice to Cricket that you're not going to activate, buy one from eBay. This is the one I used a few months ago for $6.55: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOOST-Pr...2711704644
2) Login your cricket account on the website, select the G7, select option that you're transferring phone number for a new line ($0)
3) Add a plan. This offer appears to require the $60 plan. Add that. You might get a discount because of multiple lines, and that is perfectly fine.
4) Complete transaction, providing your line transfer information.
5) Your existing account will be credited the $ amount from #3 & 4 above.
6) Wait for phone to arrive. If you see a line item for the new account on the website "awaiting activation," that's fine. DO NOT click any option to activate that line. If you receive an email to activate the new phone/line, DO NOT click any links there to activate it.
6) When you receive the phone, DO NOT TURN IT ON. Check if the SIM is installed. If it is, remove it. If not, good...you might want to crack it and throw it away.
7) Move your existing SIM to the new phone, and now you can charge it / turn it on.
8) Might require a reboot or two to get the new SIM/phone combo fully working, but it should work.

Note that just about every phone is using the micro SIM size now. Depending on how old her existing phone is, and if not already the micro size, either it will require breaking off the "mini" portion, or maybe she'll actually need an all new SIM. Either way, DO NOT use the one from the new line. If a new SIM is absolutely required, you'll want to go through that process first. Buy a new one from Best Buy for about $5-10. Go to Cricket website, open up a support chat, and let them know you need to change your SIM card because the old one was going bad. They'll walk you through the info they need from the SIM cards. Last time I did this it was free. There might be a small charge for it now. Doing it in-store is $25.

9) If you look at cricket website, you'll see a line item for the transferred phone number and "awaiting activation." Again, DO NOT click that link. After about 30 days unactivated, that line will simply disappear.

If I get this free phone and pay cricket for first month's service and then throw it in drawer, would I be eligible to get phone unlocked at the end of 6 month?

I got some phones the last time this deal was available. The first round I got Moto G7 Supra's, because of the specs. But the reception was terrible (I'm on AT&T's network). I compared the actual numerical signal strength on both 3G and LTE with other phones, right next to each other, and the G7 was significantly worse than anything else I had, like 10 dB which is a huge difference. It was the worst of any phone I've ever had. If you always travel to places with good reception it would probably be fine, but if your phone now has marginal reception, the G7 probably won't get a signal. I bought several of these G7's and they were all the same.

I sold these phones and bought some LG Stylo 5. The specs on this phone aren't as good, but the reception was much much better, and that mattered more to me. The display is actually better than the Moto G7 Supra too, so that's a bonus. I wanted a phone with 3GB+ RAM, and I haven't noticed the CPU being much of a problem, but I don't game either.

The issue with the spec confusion for the G7 Supra is that, hilariously, Motorola has the specs for it wrong on their own site. I found the full specs on a PDF from Cricket;

Network frequency FDD LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/8/12/14/
17/29/30/66/71
Global LTE Bands 7/13/20/25/26/29
WCDMA Bands 1/2/4/5/8
GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

Operating system Android™ 9 Pie

Display 6.2" HD+ (19:9 aspect ratio) 1520x720

Processor Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 632 processor
with 1.8GHz octa-core CPU
and Adreno 506 GPU

Memory 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory
Supports up to 512GB microSD card

Rear camera 12MP with phase detection autofocus and
LED flash, 4K

Front camera 8MP with screen flash

Wi-Fi® 802.11 a/b/g/n, 2.4GHz + 5GHz

Dimensions 6.33 x 2.99 x 0.37 in.

Weight 6.98 oz.

Battery 5,000mAh (non-removable)
HAC M3/T3
Charging solution Type C USB, TurboPower™

People acting like this is a slam dunk over the Stylo are mistaken imo. The Stylo's battery is 30% smaller and the processor is 10ish % slower or so but it has a significantly higher resolution screen (390 dpi vs 274) while the Supra's screen is a longer aspect ratio with a notch, neither of which I'm a fan of.

So the Stylo's screen is better in 3 different and important ways, to me personally at least, plus it has some other small advantages that add up like the screen also being slightly larger (99.20 cm² vs 95.95 cm²) and the Supra weighing slightly over 10% more and being thicker to a similar degree. That kind of thing may not seem like much but it's surprisingly noticeable on a handheld device.

So then you throw in the stylus for the Stylo 5, which I don't particularly care about myself but I'm sure some do, and really it's a judgement call imo whether you prefer the bigger battery and slightly better processor of the Supra vs the better screen and other little things the Stylo has to offer.
