Are you supposed to say excuse me for a hiccup?

I can understand saying excuse me for burping or farting. But hiccups? I did it once and a coworker insisted you're supposed to say excuse me.

You evolve to a higher life form if you burp, fart and sneeze at the same time. After that, you no longer need to excuse yourself for anything to the lower life forms.

I did that once or at least the fart and sneeze portions. Thankfully I was at home because I needed a change of pants after that.LMAO
