For factual clarification, the P-touch CUBE is not a computer
"label printer". It is a "Smartphone Dedicated Label Maker".
It uses TZe durable, laminated tapes up to 1/2-inch wide.
Brother CUBE [brother-usa.com]

Brother QL series are the label printers for Mac & PC.
These are the devices you want for printing mail or shipping
labels. The QL-1100 will print UPS/USPS labels up to 4-inches wide.

There is nothing proprietary about the labels.
Just like DYMO, generic label stock is available from the usual suspects.

Bought one. We use these at work to label our client's PCs & network equipment, and they work great. My only real dislike about any of the P-Touch's are how much they waste because you always need to trim them.

With any P Touch. Print all your labels at once with spaces between and cut them yourself to save on tape.

This vs Brother QL 800 for about 10 dollars more. Will be for personal use to label stuff at home. Haven't seen either one in use(my office uses DYMO), so suggestions appreciated.

I have one of these, really like it a lot. The portability and the battery life are great but the limited tape sizes and the lack of PC connectivity make me really want to upgrade to the P-Touch Cube Plus. This, however, is a good deal and worth it for what it does.

Bought this for $30 during Black Friday with $10 Amazon gift card (making it $20). I like it! The app is not as good as it could be though and it doesn't auto connect to Bluetooth on iPhone. I don't regret my purchase. But I've used a DYMO at work and I like it better. Less tape waste. But I LOVE the customize ability with the App vs keyboard and basic screen design. So it's 100% love hate. $20.... I don't feel bad about my purchase. Smilie
