In the multiple Husky 200-socket set [homedepot.com] threads on SD, this Dewalt socket set was mentioned several times because they were all 6-pt sockets make in Taiwan, whereas the Huskys were 12-pt sockets made in China.

Add in the fact that the Huskys were bare sockets with no organization, whereas the Dewalt had organization trays within their best storage container, and included socket wrenches.

As the Husky set got discounted lower ($59 vs $149 for the Dewalt), the gap in price quieted the 12-pt vs 6-pt discussion, but now that the Dewalt is $119, it makes the Dewalt a great deal if you're after 6-pt sockets.

I'm assuming this is a slick deal if I'm in the market for a socket set? Just confirm before I pull the trigger

Pulled the trigger. Thanks!

I'm holding out for this set to drop a little more.

DEWALT (DWMT75049) Mechanics Tool Set, 192-Piece

I would like the additional deep sockets and extensions. Also, this is nitpicking, but I like the layout better. I have to hunt around too much on my current Kobalt set and I don't feel like I'd enjoy swapping trays and hunting on this tough box system.

I like what you're saying but I'm buying now and return later. But I hear you on the pulling things out.

Bought the Husky. Thankfully never opened it. Will be buying this and return Husky. I actually was dreading opening that box and trying to organize all of those loose sockets.

The mechanic set seems short on wrenches.

In for a Dewalt Mechanics tool set as I have a pretty extensive tough system setup and had some paypal money to spend from prior cashback.

I currently have one of the craftsman sets that come in the metal tool box but was never impressed with it as I already had to take apart one of the socket wrenches to fix the mechanism. Hopefully these will be a little bit better quality wise.

Thanks OP.

the oscillating tool with 4ah battery looks like a good deal too, not as good as the combo with 5ah for $109 a few weeks ago. looks to be about $80 off from retail price

I wish the mechanics tool set was in the small tough system box. Bulky unless you regularly keep other stuff in the extra space (like a portable electric wrench, specialty socket sets, etc).
