1 year battery life in case anyone cares.

I've owned one for almost a year and while it's not a smartwatch, it does tell me the time and a rough step count and for that I like it. Also it runs off a watch battery so you don't have to worry about charging. This is huge to me.

Thank you! With all of these smartwatches, I immediately jump into the thread and look for the post that explains how long this model has been around. Repped.

yea, it's just an accelerometer device that guesses your hart rate and steps/distance . . . if i was in the market for one i would go with the garmin brand over others.

without heart rate monitor, what's the point of this. I get a lot of step counter from various company convention for free!
the advantage of the vivofit is that if you have the basic garmin chest (ANT+) strap [garmin.com] you can get the accurate heart rate into the vivofit device.

if you are running very long distances a lot of smart watches and even you cellphone running an app would not be able to last that long. vivofit 3 + chest strap will give you days if not weeks of continues reading.

I don't own the 4 - I have the mi band 2. And I used to have the vivofit 2. So it's not an exact comparison, but I can tell you the mi band has given me ZERO issues, while the vivofit was a complete piece of junk, & Garmin's customer service in dealing with their piece of junk was terrible. FWIW.
