As usual. Amazon region code listings are worthless.

The UK discs have tested and confirmed by several people as Region Free. However, the UK Blurays are encoded 50hz (1080/50) like most BBC material.

Almost all bluray players from LG/Samsung/Oppo, most Panasonic, the majority of generic BD players, Sony PS4 or later, Xbox based players, and all known/tested UHD players from any manufacturer will play 50hz material.
Older Sony standalones pre-PS4 incl PS3 will not normally play 50Hz material at all.

All new show. This is the next in BBC's "Planet" series following Planet Earth, Planet Earth II, Blue Planet, Blue Planet II, Frozen

About $10 savings including tax. I ordered earlier today, came to $30 shipped. This has already been released in UK and confirmed region free for the Blu-ray. If you want to pay $10 more, that's up to you. I'd like to save.

I also saw that someone in the review section from the U.S. ordered one and was not able to play it.

Yea, it actually says region B/2. Is that only for the bluray disc? 4k disc should be ok right?

Blu-ray has been confirmed region free, so don't rely on Amazon UK about region coding info. Amazon gets that info wrong a lot

It won't be on Netflix or Amazon. All the BBC stuff have been removed from Netflix too since BBC has started its own streaming service. It's $7 a month, but not sure it will be 4K though

UK Version, Region B/2
US version, Region A/1
Only $6 cheaper on the UK version. Not worth the risk on compatibility.

Thanks, OP. These seem to reach the $20-25 range pretty quickly so I'll wait for now, but I wasn't even aware of a new BBC nature documentary so now I have something else to look forward to.

Anyone know for sure if 4K will play in US? I'd only buy this for 4K, and I'd hate to be disappointed. I've looked at all the pics on the website but I don't see anything about region one way or another. Also don't see much in the reviews about it either.
