This was $10 yesterday. So glad Amazon price matched this for the dubbed-only sale on iTunes. Good deal for sure.

newbie question, was there only one season? I only see buy season 1 on Amazon
Sadly most of the golden era space westerns got a single season. A lot of animes end up single season, even today. Just one of those things. Especially when sales = second seasons from manga adaptations, pre-streaming era, plenty of good shows could get missed.

For anyone curious, this, Outlaw Star, Trigun are all worth a watch, single season or not... though technically Trigun has more than a single season. But you really need to be worth $$60,000,000,000 to watch that show and fully appreciate it.

Great choice to burn some slow ship credit. English or Japanese? This is a rare situation where the choice isn't obvious.
I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

Is the show included with Netflix, or any other streaming services?
Hulu has it.

The whistling scene from the first episode is changed. It also seems like a lot of ambient noise has been removed, taking the realism from many scenes. Dialogue scenes in areas where there should be other noise, the background is completely silent and you only hear the voices.

Other sound effects are changed (gunshots sound much more fake), music starts and stops in different places. Some scenes (mainly space scenes) have been rendered completely silent, where ambient noises giving life to scenes once were.
In fact, in the final episode (SPOILER) when the doves fly across the screen and the song transitions from the choir to the instruments, the chill-inducing upscaling tone of the choir that's a part of the actual song is removed in the remix and replaced with some kind of lame windchime sound, completely ruining the feeling that the original gives.

To top it off, the entire series was put through a simple "brightening" attempt which does in fact wash out the colors greatly. It makes some scenes easier to see that may have been darker than necessary in the original, but they are few and far between.
That's disappointing to read, the sound design is one of my favorite things about Cowboy Bebop. All around it's one of my favorite shows. Also the only anime that I think is best heard with the English dub. The voice acting is excellent. The Japanese version is a little too campy for my taste.

This is my favorite anime show.

I got this last year and watched it with my toddler. It's MOSTLY kid friendly. Though there was some part in where a space-assassin used a shiv to cut a guy's throat and blood goes everywhere, and my kid, being a kid, shouts "Bubbles!"

Get the original hands down (the remix has better audio but scene cuts and even worse sound effects and song changes)... also... subbed over dubbed imho although this is one of 3 anime where both work well in english dubs (DBZ, Trigun and this)
By remix, are you referring to the English dubbed posted here? Thanks!

Japanese audio is and probably always will be my first choice when available. However, this had about as good a dubbing VA cast as you'll see.

I always thought this was intentional. Write the whole story and then make it. Don't try to stretch it out just because it is popular.

Obviously not things like Berserk where the story never finished but all the 26 or 52 episode series like FMA, Bebop, Trigun, Death Note, etc. Though Death Note probably could have cut a whole season with Near and Mello.
