So please explain why the 2070s runs perfectly. The only common denominator is the AMD driver. Once I removed it and replaced with Nvidia my "system" ran perfect. Coming from someone who preferred the AMD card in my AMD "system". The issues are documented all over the internet. If you don't run your games in "windowed" mode your bound to get a black screen. The hardware runs hot, and the drivers are garbage. Facts.
I mean there is some credence to his point about it being your system.. Since not everyone is experiencing the issues, it is likely that there is some piece of hardware/firmware in your system that is not interacting correctly with AMD's drivers. Otherwise it would be happening to everyone instead of just some. This doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your system, just that for some reason the AMD drivers aren't functioning properly on it. I've had similar experiences with an older AMD card as well - I have an RX480 that crashes and stutters badly in one particular build, but appears to be fine in several other PCs, when I replace the 480 in that system with an Nvidia card, it works perfectly. Strange, but it happens.

Eventually, I would expect AMD to release drivers that make the cards work normally again, but that could take some time. These things happen when you rush products to market and AMD gotta keep that fanboy hype train rolling (half-joking).

I have this card. Bought it for 357 on Rakuten in October. Gamed for 1080p for a while, then got a 1440p 144hz on prime day. So I've been using it like that for 3 months.

The card can get loud, but if you correctly use Radeon Chill, it won't get abnormally hot at all. Im running it on stock voltage/clocks etc. Great performance especially for this price it can't be beat.

And AMD initially had trouble with their 5700 drivers. Most issues have been fixed. I would buy this card again.
Came to post this exactly. Picked one up on the same sale. I had BIOS issues to sort out with the display going black (thank you MSI) but ever since I updated the motherboard I've been golden. Sure it gets a little loud but I game with headphones on. This is a great deal for the price.

FWIW. I have had this card since 8/29/2019. No issue with the drivers and temps. Fans so run loud but I manually adjusted the fan curve.

Lmao - the comment section clued me into the POTENTIAL heat issues and noise. Then I did my own research on the brand 5700xt I had I forget the model. Hardware unboxed and gamer nexus + linus had me checking temps and I was running acceptable temps but on the high side of normal without any heavy GPU stress so I imagine it would have crept into danger territory with heavy gaming. Technically speaking I NEVER had any issues with the card. Never make any decisions on a comment section anywhere I prefer doing my own research but comments can give you clues on what to look out for.
Spending over $300 to put in work to make a product that's supposed to not have these problems work the way they are intended. Smart.

Just returned a MSI 5700xt. Drivers are garbage. Crashed and locked up in R6 Siege, which is a super old game. Wanted to like that card because of the value. It also underperformed in benchmarks and got super hot - 90C. Went back to Nvidia, just a more stable product.

I really, really hate to echo this. I'm running an R5-3600 and it rocks for the price - AMD is killing it in the CPU market. BUT, I...tried a 5700 XT and had abnormally long POST times, card ran fans full speed just at the Windows desktop. Had many BSoDs. Took it back and got a 2070 Super and haven't had a lick of trouble. I know that with tweaks and playing with the fan curve folks have had good luck with the 5700s, but my 2070 worked like a champ out of the box. I hate that AMD has had these driver issues because the hardware is solid; but said software issues still mar the reputation of that new chip.

Hardware Unboxed released a video addressing the ASUS issue and from there review it seems that issue was ASUS specific and not a 5700xt problem per se.

Also before all Hardcore AMD fanboys who have had 0 issues with there cards come in and downvote all these comments. GET OVER IT - Brand Loyalty is the dumbest thing you can do, products change every year, quality goes up and down for every single manufacturer. We WANT AMD to succeed!! Blowing smoke up there A for a less than stellar product is moronic.
Nvidia had no reason to release a 3k series card except pressure from AMD, AMD will have to fix there current cards and create better cards to stay competitive the consumer wins. I have an AMD CPU and it is AMAZING so I'm not trying or wanting to hate on AMD. I like AMD I want them to continue to kick INTEL and NVIDIA in the A so we get better products.

Competition helps consumers, blind loyalty and hurt feelings does not.

Cheap, but very lightweight and loud, cooler is not sufficient for this GPU, it gets hot and ramps up RPMs beyond average loud levels.
Is the calling better than the single fan cooling one?

Don't know about other engines, but my Blizzard games (Diablo 3 and Hearthstone) crash to black screen and unrecoverable randomly. I have to hard reset every time, lost all progressions and winning matches. Asus agreed to exchang to the RTX 2070 Super from that crappy ROG 5700 XT.
I play blizzard games with 0 issues.

Good hardware, shitty drivers. I like AMD and the GPU world needs competition, so I hope they get it worked out sooner rather than later. IMHO they should just fire everyone in the driver department and start fresh.

I am optimistic they will eventually get it figured out. But I wouldn't touch these cards today unless it was free. Life is too short to be playing whack a mole with drivers and fixes every day.

On that note, the 2060 KO just released at the $300 mark and it's a cut down 2080 core and the press is loving it. Save $60 and driver hell and go that route?

5700xt been out 6 months and reviewers haven't seen the problems, but randoms start popping up about drivers right before amd is going to announce rdna2. Im sure we can put 1 and 1 together
