It's worse than an average gaming laptop because of G-Sync, which turns off Nvidia optimus forcing the dedicated GPU to run all the time. Should be able to turn it off in the bios but that requires restarting the computer every time you want to turn G-Symc on and off.

Oh wow...didn't notice the laptop display has G Sync. Sounds like a solid compromise for a G Sync display.

Great price for a great gaming laptop. About the only complaint I've heard for this laptop is the position of the macro keys.

Convince me not to buy this laptop. Or is there any suggestions for a better gaming laptop under $1500?

Looking at various reviews it sounds like it has solid performance in this price range, great cooling, decent keyboard, and a nice 500 nit true HDR screen.

Battery is 2 - 3 hours which is not good but it looks like 5 is tops for gaming laptops.

5 hours is not tops for gaming laptops. There are outliers, such as Gigabyte Aero 15 X9 and the Eluktronics MAG-15, both of which have a 94Whr battery that lasts 8-9 hours with productivity tasks.

The EVOO laptop at $999 looked good a while back and it's store price seems to be dropping

9750h is almost a year old, and we should start seeing the new 10th gen popup soon?

Unfortunately, you prob won't see them mainstream for a while. Gaming laptops typically use the 45w TDP and Intel indicated "soon" with no date. Which prob means after summer.

TBH 9750 is a beast gaming and streaming. If anything, it's the graphics card that is usually the limiter.
