Who is this for? At 75hz it's not for gamers. TN it's not for creatives. Office workers don't need 75hz and would do better with more pixels (or 16:10) - so the U2412m for $100 that's been floating around is better for them.

75hz is more than acceptable for console gamers as well as a good percentage of PC games especially older games. I would recommend a 144hz 1440p monitor for the latest graphically intensive PC games if you have a powerful graphics card and hopefully that will continue to be suitable enough for even the next-generation consoles assuming they take advantage of freesync before faster and more expensive 4k monitors come out.

This is going to be a 2nd monitor for me so my kid can play his Switch, PS4 and other consoles without tying up my TV so given the price, it more than fulfills its purpose as a gaming monitor.

Certainly fine for recreational gamers, certainly fine for many types of offices, certainly fine for countless people who want a decent cheap monitor for home use. So yeah, it's for millions of people.

But for $20 more (still a very reasonable $100) the U2412m is much better for office and casual home use. I suppose this would be a little better than the U2412m for budget gamers though.
