I am using the one from Sams club...Full bag drop in. Heavy duty plastic.

https://www.samsclub.com/p/pet-fo...roduct_1_1

Really air tight...but i also use Oxo to keep 3 lbs refill and dont open the large container frequently.

Lots of comments that container is not airtight, but I use the same container to keep bags of pet food inside - package protects from light and air and the latch is pretty good in preventing my cats from getting to the food (I swear my cats developed opposable thumbs).

I just slide the entire food bag into the bin and then scoop out of the bag. Helps keep it clean. Yes I could just have a loose bag laying around but this makes it a bit more organized.

Interesting!
Yes, our airtight pet food storage containers are acid free, BPA free, and FDA compliant, but not FDA approved for human food storage.

So now dog food has to be stored "airtight." It's not creating a vacuum so air is still in there. I don't see what purpose this serves except to make the seller some money. George Carlin once said "Nail two things together that have never been nailed together before and some schmuck will buy it from you." I've had healthy, long-living dogs all my life and they all got fed out of an open bag (though admittedly I do have the bags in a plastic tub I got at Lowes). Just one more excuse to relieve us of our money, imho.

Recently I've tested both kibble style and canned cat food. I've concluded that I liked the canned food better so that's what my cat will be fed. Added bonus is no stop, drop, rolling, burping your cat food bags. No need for silly storage containers either.

Am I the only one who kind of hoping the guy comes back who insists these are so airtight that cats will instantly die in one?

Just arrived and I may say this thing is NOT airtight but I didn't need it to be. It fits a 23 lb of dog food no problem. I got the navy blue and it actually looks better in person than in the pics.

It's BPA free so I don't see why not. It's def not airtight though

as said you are just paying to accelerate degrading the nutritional value of your pet food.

If its hard to reach deep in the bag, shear off the empty part.

I've used this for years and love it. For everyone worried about it not being airtight I suggest you just slide your whole bag of food into it instead of pouring it into it. It helps with freshness and I also don't like the idea of the plastic inside getting greasy like some foods can be.
My dogs bags are big enough that I can just roll the top of the bag shut then shut the lid and it pushes the bag down further.

I have some kind of hilarious feedback for this. I bought it + matching scoop years ago when we brought home our golden retriever. Over the years he was gaining weight and we couldn't figure out why despite a ton of efforts....

As it turns out, the measurements inside of the corresponding scoop were WAY off. What the scoop said was 1 cup was actually closer to 1.6 cups so our dog was getting 60% more food than he actually needed.

The food container is great though....
