Yes, and air.

It is typically much better to keep the food in the bag that it shipped in, "burping" the air out of the bag as you use it to the best of your ability.

One method that is popular is to use a glass bowl food storage container for that week's food to pull from, scooped out of the original bag, and then the original bag burped and rolled up tightly with the weight of the bag over the opening to seal it off well, stored in a dark and cool place.

The glass bowl, unlike plastic, is not porous and so more hygienic and easier to wash, and will also have an airtight lid. It can likewise be stored out of light when not in use.

Had one, no way airtight.

Want airtight, get Vittles vault, they are da bomb. I get the large one and store food bag in it.

If these function the same was as the IRIS container I have, they are not airtight. The plastic hinge cannot prevent the back corners of the lid from lifting up when it's closed.

Not airtight. Not even protection against small bugs. Trust me.

I'm thinking of using this to store charcoal outside. Anyone know how well it'll hold in sun?
