I'm going on 6 years with this coffee maker and it's great if you need only 5 (5oz.) cups, which works for me. The only downside for me is that the way the water drips tends to leave a divot in the center of the basket of grounds.

But a tip I learned fixes that and greatly improves the coffee coming from any drip coffee maker - bloom the grounds before you turn on the coffee maker. Basically this is pre-wetting the grounds to release CO2 from the coffee before you start the drip part. It really does make a difference. Read all about it here:

When using pre-ground coffee, the grounds should no longer be releasing CO2. Whole bean is a different story. Blooming is still important though (with 192-205° water, of course), since it warms the grounds and gets them ready to release full flavour. The divot in the center of the grounds after the drawdown is just caused by the cone-shaped filter, so those grounds in the center will likely be overextracted (bitter), leaving the grounds on the outer edge underextracted (sour). Typically when using a filter of this shape, the remedy is to give the grounds a circular swirl about a minute before it finishes. That'll pull the grounds off the side of the filter and flatten out the grounds bed for a more even extraction during the final drawdown. Not sure how easy that is to do with this coffee maker, but it's essential with a V60 pourover dripper. I am a Breville Precision Brewer owner and have experienced similar issues.

23% ($15.77) off 3-month average.. the lowest during that period was $64. Attachment for more detail. Less relevant but the lowest all-time was $45.93 in November 2016.

Great design: shame it doesn't come in white.

This seems like a lot for a drip maker. Is there something special about it? I think I got a 4 cup kitchenmate or something for less than 20 bucks.
Watch the video on the page. Has a pretty unique/smart design, especially for those who like things to be easy to clean. Plus the brand name of course.

Not sure about this coffee maker, but smart plug is no good on many coffee makers these days.

There are many that have auto-shutoff feature and don't have a mechanical/rocker switch, so nothing will happen with a smart plug any different than when you just manually plug in.
