Nope, same thing, but Amazon's 'partners' do it. It is hit or miss. Don't expect original packaging or instruction manual.

I like how Amazon is calling the refurb item a "#1 new release" in the robot vacuums category...

FYI, it has a 90-day warranty. From the amazon website:

About Amazon Renewed

Amazon Renewed is your trusted destination for pre-owned and refurbished products that are inspected and tested to work and look like new. A Renewed supplier who is Amazon-qualified and performance managed, performs a full diagnostic test, replaces any defective parts, and thoroughly cleans the product. The products will have minimal to no signs of wear, no visible cosmetic imperfections when held 12 inches away, and may arrive in a brown or white box with relevant accessories that may be generic.

This product is backed by the Amazon Renewed Guarantee
Your product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if it does not work as expected. Get quick support for claims and free troubleshooting via a single point of contact at Amazon. The guarantee is in conjunction with Amazon's standard return policy.

For those wondering, these have app control and they have mapping abilities, but they do not have app-controlled maps that you can establish no-go zones with. You still have to use the lighthouses for that.
The 980 is like this, but with a much better suction motor. And the i7 is the 980 with no-go zones.

I've had a Neato D3, D4, 960, 980, and S9+.

I'm not a fan of Amazon renewed/refurbished but Shark's robot vacuums have always been poorly rated.

I think I'd rather have the e6 for $70 cheaper from Costco. We've already gone through two Roomba's in years past with Target and Amazon. I'll take Costco's return policy any day over the competition. No, I haven't exploited it - just one return so far in my life. But good peace of mind.

I own this and advise that you steer clear of this. It's very hit or miss when it comes to actually going back and charging itself then finishing it's job. I would say once every month it will actually surprise me and go charge itself. I've tried everything from replacing the dock to cleaning out the device and replacing parts. To setting up my rooms better and having ample lighting. To setting up two lighthouses. After about a year (Conveniently, because they come with a one year warranty) it will just shut itself down due to low battery. This thing tore through the sides of my area and hallway rugs. The plastic bin where the filter is - is currently snapping off of the vacuum.

This is not worth the money.

As for Amazon renewed, it's basically a worse version of Amazon warehouse deals. These are third party refurbished items that get resold. At least with Amazon warehouse deals they were mostly open box and/or return items. Amazon renewed is bottom of the barrel broken items that were fixed by an outsourced third party.
