If I don't do any gaming, would this make for a good computer monitor for web browsing, Microsoft Office, Emails, Youtubes, and playing mkv movies? I'm actually more interested in a 55", but that one I was looking at is now OOS...I suppose a 50" would do.

I would be concerned about input lag and low refresh rate for gaming, but it should work fine for general web use and movies. You may notice some artifacts on text/semi blurry text at times though. That can be said about nearly any TV when it's used as a monitor.

Thanks for the response. I see a 55" LG IPS TV is on sale at Costco, too. Would IPS be better as a monitor? I recall that the viewing angles of IPS are superior. I'll be sitting about two to three feet from the screen, so maybe that would be more suitable...

I bought the Vizio (V505-G9) for around the same price because I read that it's better. Is that true? Mostly plan on using it as my main computer monitor for productivity.
