I looked for the 256gb one sub $1000 on BF, never found it (128gb in 2019 is as anti consumer as I've ever seen)

Of course there will be a refresh this year, but the reasons for buying an air are never "more processors", and for all we know the air is most likely to get an ARM chip just so they can keep that crazy high margin.

The keyboard refresh may or may not be a big deal, I'm confident that Apple would make it right in the event this one has an issue.

Good deal.

I had this exact MacBook Air and it is too slow. Got bogged down with simple tasks like web browsing.

Processors are weak in this thing. I rather pay a little more for a pro imo. Also apples refreshing new macs really soon.

Sorry, I'm calling BS. I have a 2013 MBA that is still fast... even by today's standards. Maybe you need to check your network.

Wow really?. Somehow hard to believe it. I had a 2010 MBA that never slowed down. I upgraded in 2018 for a 2017 MBA cause the price was right and got almost half my money back on the old one. I am really tempted to get the retina MBA but not because my current one has any issues.

This is an ok deal for MBA but obviously not for the spec lovers that compare it to everything else on the market.

Actually, I'm I designer and I own a 17,18, and latest 16" MBP. My 2013 MBA is a web surfer I keep around for my wife and kids. So, considering I actually use Apple devices in a professional capacity... I have pretty high standards. There's nothing wrong with this MBA at this price. The average person would not find this computer as a bottleneck in their workflow.

late last year I paid $1,099 for this exact model (MVFL2LL/A) I believe. I am not the primary user of the MacBook, but I was the one who set it up, installed Microsoft Office apps, and figured out getting the year of free Apple TV+ (ended up having to call). I might just be used to using older, slower Macs, but this one felt plenty responsive, and the update to Catalina was painless. For standard office productivity, it has been just fine.

A similarly spec'd Pro will have better performance than an Air, if that is what you mean by "best".

Well I will be purchasing. I had a Mac mini set up with the thunderbolt screen prior and I've used chromebooks but I just want a decent machine that I can surf the web on and do other stuff really nothing fancy nothing for work or school. I have iPhones and iPad so just wanted to keep it all in the family lol 😂
I'm replacing the Mac mini I had and have approx $1700 I could spend.

What? The moon has less gravity than Earth. If anything you'd want to ask if they were on Mars, where a light weight would be more likely to weigh you down.
