Great deal, and no having to figure out EPP if it's not readily available to you

Bought the 2019 65in. I can say it's ok. The photo frame stuff is cool. But the interface is really crappy, and the selection of non free stuff is abysmal. Forced to pay a subscription for access and again it's a really horrible process to select items. Can't make lists or do anything quickly, like you have to manually set each image into a picture frame.... One by one default is full screen photo.. Wth

Interesting.. I wonder how that works with supply and demand. Once it's on the FP, a bunch of offers come in at $949, and they realize they can demand a higher price?

Anyone with epp having issues with Samsung? My work is showing employee pricing at 930.00 in my cart but at checkout ups the price to 1399. I've been talking with support and they can't get the epp price to stick.

I'd just buy via greentoe but received an exclusive epp offer of a free frame with a purchase. If I could get the frame and TV for 930 that's a steal. But I can't get the goddamn price to stick.

Greentoe could be money saving site for some, but if you have problem with DOA like I do, they're nowhere to be found. They'll ask you to contact reseller, and the reseller will kick back to Greentoe. It's back and forth and lots of headache. Most of the emails you sent to Greentoe will be ignored. I guess that the site is run from some guys with very little knowledge of a good customer service.

I got the 65" as well a couple weeks ago with the EPP rate and free bezel frame.

For photos, there are several free download sites for images like the Met, Chicago Art Institute, National Archives, etc. Even Wikipedia's image File is good enough. I just download the image to my phone, use the app "Image Size" to crop it to 3840x2160, and then upload via the SmartThings app. That resolution will give you all the mat options. I have a rotation of about 20 famous paintings in slideshow mode.

I agree the interface/app sucks and is not ideal. Slideshow mode will stop after a couple of days and I have to reset it. The other crappy thing is the white mat really isn't pure white, but has a vignette which made me think the TV was defective in the corners. I really wish it was pure white, as if it were a real mat.

It works for us but it's not our primary TV. In the living room as basically a giant digital picture frame and then doubles as family yoga for my wife and kids via screen share from the iPhone. The main TV is an LG OLED, so not a fair comparison.

It is definitely a smart TV with convenient apps. I didn't know Samsung even has it come with a free channel lineup. Granted they are random channels I never heard of, but still good enough to put something on to entertain toddlers in the background.

IMO, get this if you primarily want the frame aspect and are willing to live with the frustrating app (although it works most the time). If you will use as your everyday TV, I'd personally put the money towards an OLED TV. Others on here obviously disagree and love the TV aspect.

Edit: I also have the 49" for the same purpose in the other room and paid $899 a couple moths ago at Best Buy. For these prices, we like it as rotating artwork. The next best alternative option I could find was the Netgear Meural, but for the price difference to get a much bigger screen and a TV, it was a no brainer to go with this. I also think it looks 100x better with the added bezel frame which I found on Amazon for $75 for the 49".

I also wanted to comment on the Samsung One Connect box it uses. This almost scared me off as I thought I'd have to hide the box behind the TV based on a video I watched. Not true. It's actually very convenient that you only have to route one small wire through the wall and not run a new outlet behind the TV. This is a great benefit. They call the wire "invisible" as it's only a few millimeters wide, but IMO you need to run it in the wall for the clean look.

Bought the 55" 8 months ago. The sound is TERRIBLE. Mine is on a tv stand rather than on the wall, so it may be a problem with the layout, but I'd definitely plan to buy a soundbar (Samsung brand to improve compatibility). I love the picture, adjustable everything. Very smart smart tv with most of the apps you could want. Paid 1300+ and no regrets.
I kinda like the art aspect, but it's mostly a tv.

Idk what people's issues are with the app. I have a 2018 65, and just ordered another 19 65" and am seriously considering getting the 49" also. Yes, Samsung charges for the art if you want it. But you can add art/photos from your phone via the smart things app in minutes.

I'm also sure you can buy a better "tv" for the money. But you can't get a 0" wall gap, or the looks of this tv when it's off. And in our house the tv is off 95% of the time so this loooks amazing over the fireplaces, in an office where ever.

I can't comment to the sound as I have mine setup with Sonos gear but I will add the wiring on this with the media box is a pro in many situations but in my one room where I have a brick fireplace I'm not sure how I'd get that cable run. Only thing preventing me from grabbing one for that room.

Hope this helps

Just another viewpoint- I absolutely love my 2019 55 inch. It sits above the fireplace. I think the interface is simple. I highly recommend it. You don't have to pay a subscription- I've uploaded a lot of art on it for free. They could improve the photo software a bit, as you suggest. This is $300 less than I paid. This is a great deal. Get it if you have a perfect room that needs a center piece of art work and a tv.

Long static (art) images and OLED is not a good combination. I am sure one day OLED will get there, but that day is not today.
