It says checking account lol... i guess it doesn't matter if you close the checking account after you get the bonus.

You have to keep the account open for 6 month.....otherwise, chase will take the bonus back! Anyway, you can move money out after you get the bonus and pay the monthly fee for the rest of 6-month period.....Still you will get $1000 minus 3x monthly fee.....pretty good IMO !!

So after fees and taxes $600-700 profit.

Join SapphireSM Banking with an average balance of $75,000+ in eligible deposits/investments, or a monthly service fee of $25.

Within 45 calendar days, transfer a total of $75,000 or more in qualifying new money or securities to a combination of eligible checking, savings, and/or investment accounts (excludes any J.P. Morgan retirement accounts and CDs), and maintain that balance for at least 90 days.*

Your bonus will be deposited into your Chase Sapphire Checking account within 10 business days.*

The way to do this is to sign up for the sapphire checking acct, move the money over, then set up a youinvest acct with chase, move the money over there and just stash it in a vanguard money market -vmmx (or something else, if okay with some risk). Leave something in the sapphire just to keep it open, but no fees since you technically have enough to avoid them with the brokerage acct.

That way you get a money market interest rate while you wait for the bonus. After bonus arrives, you can downgrade the checking acct. Probably wise to keep the downgraded checking acct for at least another 3 months to avoid possible clawback.

Anyway, that's how it worked when I did it last year. Check with your bank rep first, as they may have changed some terms since then.

Based on current vmmx rates + bonus, it'd come out to about 7% for those 3 months (if I did my math right).
