21h layover in Taiwan 😬 on a nearly 42hour return flight. That's really rough.

This is one of the best parts of the deal, Taipei is a fantastic layover city, some of the best food culture in the world, excellent mass transit, friendly people. (I'm biased.)

The other best part of the deal is the Hello Kitty jet. It's a hilarious experience, and amazing how far Eva has gone to make it a full "experience." The luggage tags are different, the boarding passes are different, the gate is decorated, the pillows have special cases (and they're different depending which jet you get, since each jet is themed after a different character, the FOOD is cut different.

No, it takes about 40 mins to get from TPE to 101 via uber, or about a 60 mins train ride to get to Taipei main station. A $3 charter bus can get you into the city in about 60-75 mins.

Can you just not get on the plane to Bali if you want to stay in Taiwan? This is cheaper than JFK to tpe.

Obliviously you don't know shit about Taiwan. TPE has a express subway to Taipei Main Station and takes 35 mins. Takes about 5 mins to walk form the arrival lobby to subway ticketing machine. Taipei is great for layover like this. Night markets, hot pots etc... so many Taiwanese food to explorer. Taipei 101 or the Temples are all good places to check out. If you're tired there's hotels that offer 3 hr rest or you can head to capsule hotel or 24hr Internet cafe!

I've heard if you do it multiple times, they'll catch on to you. However, I don't know why you would want to pass up Bali. It's amazing!

Been on this airlines on my flight to Singapore...not the greatest of the airlines nor the greatest of the food either. Would not recommend for a long flight the leg room is unbearable, I am 6ft 2 and this flight was my worse journey overseas. Unless having a hello kitty on the outside of your flight means comfort to you I would skip this airlines.

This is very tricky, most airlines has stopped honoring tickets if you skip a leg to avoid DealCatcher like us. However, for Eva they are pretty generous and often times if you have the right "excuse" you might be able to get it done. On the day of flight, after arriving in Taipei I would tell Eva that you had ate some bad and is having bad stomachache and you can even visit a local family doc which only cost $400 NTD and get a proof of doctor visit. Tell them you will not be able to make the fight. Ask Eva to cancel your Taipei-Bali leg and just opt to fly back on original date to NYC. Hope this helps.
