Point me to another 14" laptop that is at most 2.2 lbs, has at least 18.5 hours of battery life with either a higher resolution screen or a cheaper price, please?

Yeayeayea all these shills. I never said other specs are bad. It is just the display that I have issues with. With windows getting better at high dpi, 1080p is not enough for me. Go ahead and buy this if you find 1080p is sufficient. Not me.
What programs do you run on a 14 inch laptop that needs 4K?

Accusing me of being a shill for asking you to find something that beats literally any of the specs while holding the others constant? Rude.

A number of years ago I chose a 4k screen on my XPS 13, and later regretted it, since the 1080p model was lighter, had significantly better battery life (because it's driving less pixels), and frankly at that size I couldn't have cared less for the pixel density.

you are basing off your experience a couple years ago? 10th gen cpu is fine at handling 4k just fine. cpu speed has generally improved. windows now supports better. heck even macbook air with i3 or chromeos with m3 support high res displays fine. when did i say 4K?

surface laptop is not high res but it still better than 1080p. surface pro 7 is not 4k but good enough. yes, other specs are fine on this deal but that does not change my personal view on 1080p at this price point.

its like putting a 4gb soldered ram on otherwise a great laptop - it might not be a deal breaker for many but it's a joke to me.

i don't need it but i prefer using 200 dpi over 100/125 dpi when browsing.

NONE of these laptops have 18 hours, at middle brightness it's ~7-8 hours tops . And the laptop isn't very snappy while unplugged due to the power gating..

It's a 14" screen. Good luck seeing the difference at 2'.

The iGPU on that i7-1065g7 will be starved with only 8GB ram. Needs 16GB to do anything with graphics.

*plus, it is a world of difference between running it at 15W TDP and 25W.

i dont need luck for that and i am sorry if you cant tell the difference between 100dpi vs 200dpi. windows laptops need to get better with high res display - even low end macbooks look better in person when browsing setting aside colors/contrast. i prefer windows though and hope more windows laptops at least at 1100 price point to have higher res display.
