Excellent deal, while very tempting, I already have too many rods as it is...

When deal alert comes up for G. Loomis for half price you immediately order it and let the realization that you already have enough rods slowly sink in. In for one of each of the 7' and the 7'6". Wish this was for the Pro Green or Pro Blue series. Those are my favorite Loomis stick.

Any good reels to compliment this rod? First time upgrading to this tier of rods. Usually just buy combos. Ty

Diawa fuego or tatula spinning, shimano stratic, first higher end reels that come to mind for inland fishing. Pflueger president or president xt are awesome for the price but not high end. If salt water check the details before buying.

Buy rods now and Just use your old reels and upgrade later when slickdeals has reel deals. My loomis spinning rods are all paired with cheapish Daiwa BG and penn battle reels still. They work fine. The rods feel amazing, but then you realize how heavy those reels feel on a light rod.

Thanks OP - wasn't sure, but with fishing deals I snag first and ask questions later so I grabbed one before they went OOS. I think it should pair nicely with a Daiwa Saltist Back Bay I've got that's on the ultra light side. Been trying to fish with lighter tackle to make the fish seem bigger :-)
